Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling to Expand Harry Potter-verse

Earlier today, Warner Bros. announced a new partnership with "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling involving "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," Rowling's 2001 Harry Potter companion book and in-universe Hogwarts textbook.

It is planned as the first picture in a new film series, with a screenplay written by Rowling herself. Set in the wizarding world, the story will feature magical creatures and characters (including fictional author Newt Scamander), some of which will be familiar to devoted Harry Potter fans.

J.K. issued out a statement today, and it reads as follows....

It all started when Warner Bros. came to me with the suggestion of turning 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' into a film. I thought it was a fun idea, but the idea of seeing Newt Scamander, the supposed author of 'Fantastic Beasts', realized by another writer was difficult. Having lived for so long in my fictional universe, I feel very protective of it and I already knew a lot about Newt. As hard-core Harry Potter fans will know, I liked him so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favourite characters from the Harry Potter series, Luna Lovegood. ...

Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway."

Great news for all Harry Potter fans!

Nicki Minaj's Huge Hit 'Starships' Is a RIP-OFF -- According to Lawsuit

Nicki Minaj's massive hit "Starships" is full-on deja vu to EDM star Clive Tanaka -- because it sounds pretty damn identical to a song he released a year before Nicki's -- and now he's suing her over it.

Tanaka filed a federal suit in Chicago this week against Nicki, 3 writers, and the song's producer -- claiming copyright infringement on his 2011 tune -- "Neu Chicago.

Kim Kardashian Shows Off Post-Baby Body in Beverly Hills

Kim Kardashian is almost back in her skinny jeans.

The new mom showed off her shrinking waist while leaving a medical center in Beverly Hills, on Wednesday.

The now-blonde bombshell looked chic for her casual outing, sporting a white blouse which was belted at the waist and olive slacks.

Kim's been keeping a low profile ever since she gave birth in June -- but she's slowly coming back into the spotlight.

The 33-year-old recently appeared in a home video (not the one you think) while driving around with sisters Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kourtney's baby daddy Scott Disick, as they sang along to Drake.

Julia Roberts' TIFF Dress is a RED HOT Surprise

The past few years have seen quite a few black dresses and pantsuits from Julia Roberts. The looks, albeit sexy, were certainly safe in the fashion department. But it looks like Julia finally got her style mojo back.

The actress stepped out to attend the premiere of "August: Osage County" at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival yesterday wearing a head-turning red Dolce & Gabbana minidress.

Chosen from the fashion house's Fall 2013 collection, the lace number featured bell sleeves and showed off the 45-year-old's enviable pins. The bombshell updo and sultry, dark nails she sported were both nice touches, too.

Welcome back to the risk-takers club, Julia!

Miley Cyrus' NUDE "Wrecking Ball" Video

Apparently the point of Miley Cyrus' new video was NOT to showcase the naked singer. Miley is humping a chain and licking a sledgehammer. In fact, the meaning behind the video is way deeper. Just like Miley.

In an interview with Z100's Elvis Durant, the 20-year-old said that the 44 million plus "Wrecking Ball" viewers were missing what her video was really about: "I think the video is much more. If people get past the point I make, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds."

Yeah isn't it weird that people are distracted by your naked body? Umm do we need to bring up the sledgehammer lick seen 'round the Internets?

The song is about a relationship gone wrong, "is a pop ballad that everyone can relate to, everyone has felt that feeling at some point," said Miley.

The video was directed by controversial photographer Terry Richardson, was meant to show her vulnerable side. Uhh could this video be a very obvious reference to her shaky relationship with "fiance" Liam Hemsworth.

Julie Chen Had Plastic Surgery to Look LESS Chinese

Julie Chen just revealed her plastic surgery past on "The Talk."

The 43-year-old says she went under the knife before hitting it big -- because she was told she had to look less "Chinese" to be taken seriously in news.

After hearing the same thing from both her boss and agent and talking it over with her parents, Julie decided to have her eyes done.

She even showed a Before & After photo, which highlighted the results of the procedure.

"I have to live with every decision that I've made," Julie added. "And it got me to where we are today. And I'm not going to look back."

Liberace's Ex- Lover I'M A DRUG ADDICT -- But Please Don't Send Me to Prison

Liberace's ex-lover Scott Thorson -- who was famously portrayed in "Behind the Candelabra" by Matt Damon -- had a HUGE break in court today when a judge agreed to send him to rehab instead of prison after failing a drug test.

It's a big deal considering Thorson is currently on probation stemming from a burglary and ID theft conviction -- and if his probation was revoked, the judge could send him to prison for up to 20 years.

During the hearing in a Nevada courtroom, Thorson admitted he's a hardcore drug addict and begged the judge for a second chance to complete a court-ordered rehab program.

The judge made it clear he's not impressed with Thorson's "so-called celebrity status" -- but agreed to spare him from the big house this time, if he completes treatment.

The judge also warned Thorson that this will be his last chance -- and if he screws up again, he's going straight to prison.
