Box Office: 'The Other Woman' Debuts in First Place With Strong $24.7 Million

Despite being mostly panned by critics, Fox’s femme-targeted comedy “The Other Woman” proved funny enough for audiences, nabbing the No. 1 domestic spot at the box office with an estimated $24.7 million and unseating “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” which grossed $16 million in its fourth frame.

Internationally, Sony’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ continues to raise the bar before its Stateside bow on Friday, grossing an additional $67.2 million for an overseas total of $132 million (of which Imax has contributed a notable $7 million at fewer than 150 engagements).

Donald Sterling -- The Magic Johnson Picture That Triggered Racial Rant

This is the picture that triggered the conversation between L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling and his girlfriend ... the conversation in which he said he did not want her bringing Magic Johnson or any other African American to his games.

In this picture -- V. Stiviano is on the right. The woman on the left is V's friend, Rachel Rodriguez. 

Stiviano says on the audio -- and Sterling acknowledges -- he made her take the pic off Instagram because he didn't want her seen in public with an African American.

Randy Travis SELLING His New Mexico Ranch For $14.7 Million

Randy Travis has listed his 220-acre New Mexico ranch for $14.7 million.

The country singer bought the property from New Mexico’s former governor and converted it into luxury estate, and apparently he spent most of his time here ... well, up until his split from wife/former manager Elizabeth Travis in 2010, that is. She got the house in the divorce, and he now lives in Texas, where he is recovering from a stroke.

The 8,750-square-foot main house has 3 bedrooms and three bathrooms, a large living room, a library and a recreation room. The second floor has a full guest suite, a studio and a walk-in vault. According to listing info, the house is "rich with hand-carved doors, corbels, inlaid details, stitched leather ceilings, vigas, and 10 fireplaces."

Bill O'Reilly: Beyonce Could Care Less About Young Black Girls Getting Pregnant

Beyonce doesn't deserve to be on the cover of TIME's 100 most influential people issue ... according to Bill O'Reilly -- who says her raunchy music videos are proof she's a HORRIBLE INFLUENCE!

O'Reilly's beef with Beyonce is no secret, just last month he said the singer negatively influenced teenage "girls of color" with her hyper-sexualized music video "Partition."

Bill re-upped his outrage on Friday while talking about Beyonce's TIME cover, saying -- "she knows that young girls getting pregnant in the African-American community now is about 70% out of wedlock. She knows and doesn't seem to care."

'PlayStation 4' Could Be Sony’s Last Video Game Console

By just about any measure, Sony's PlayStation 4 has been a runaway success. Worldwide, the video game console has sold more than 7 million units since being released last fall -- about 40% more than Microsoft's competing Xbox One -- and Sony has struggled to keep it in stock.

Yet, despite its success, the PlayStation 4 could be the last of its kind. In a recent interview with Re/code, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida explained the company's desire to move away from a business model dependent on hardware.

PlayStation Now, Sony's cloud-based video game streaming service, is set to launch this summer. When it debuts, the service will enable PlayStation 4 owners to play older games released for the PlayStation 1, 2, and 3.
 
Sony's PlayStation 4 lacks the hardware and software necessary to play these games -- it isn't natively backward compatible. But by using Sony's distant servers and the power of the Internet, gamers will be able to play these older games on their new consoles. PlayStation 4 games won't be available for the service, at least at launch, though it's clear Sony eventually intends to add them.

Steven Spielberg To Direct Roald Dahl’s ‘The Bfg,’ Will Shoot Tom Hanks Thriller First

Steven Spielberg will direct an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s novel “The BFG.”

The story follows a little girl who leads a big, friendly giant and the Queen of England on a journey to stop the fiercer man-eating giants from gobbling children.

DreamWorks acquired rights in 2010, and Melissa Mathison, who last teamed with Spielberg on “E.T.,” will pen the script. Frank Marshall will produce, with Michael Siegel and John Madden on board as executive producers. Madden was originally set to direct “The BFG” but is instead focusing on the sequel to “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.”

Spielberg will begin production in first quarter of 2015, with a planned 2016 release.

“’The BFG’ has enchanted families and their children for more than three decades. We are honored that the Roald Dahl estate has entrusted us with this classic story,” said Spielberg in a statement.

However, the busy director is likely to first direct the untitled Tom Hanks thriller for DreamWorks in September, with Tom Hanks starring in the true story of an American attorney enlisted by the CIA during the Cold War.

Donald Sterling Was Slated to Get NAACP Award Next Month

It's stunning to say the least ... Donald Sterling has been tapped by the L.A. chapter of the NAACP for a Lifetime Achievement Award ... at a gala event on May 15th.

Leon Jenkins who is President of the L.A. branch, has said in the past, "He [Donald] has a unique history of giving to the children of L.A." Sterling donates thousands of Clippers tickets to local youth groups.

There have been several earlier allegations Sterling was a racist. Several years back, Jenkins was quoted as saying, "We can't speak to the allegations, but what we do know is that for the most part [Sterling] has been very, very kind to the minority youth community."

The national chapter of the NAACP issued a statement, saying, "As the investigation is in progress, we urge the L.A. Branch of the NAACP to withdraw Donald Sterling from the honoree list at its upcoming Gala.  We also suggest that African-Americans and Latinos should honor his request and not attend the games."

‘Parks & Recreation’ Executive Says Next Season May Be the Last

NBC's “Parks & Recreation” may bid farewell next year after its seventh season, according to executive producer Michael Schur.

“It's fairly likely that next year will be the last,” Schur said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “The natural rhythm of the show and the big creative jump we take at the end of this season certainly suggests that we're moving in that direction.”
