Ellen DeGeneres: I Just Made a Fortune Flipping My New Mansion
Ellen DeGeneres just flipped the amazing house she bought just before New Year's -- after only living there a few months -- and the buyer was Napster co-founder Sean Parker ... who opened his wallet wide.
The Brody House -- yes, the place is so baller it has a name -- was sold to Parker for $55 million ... which means Ellen made a tidy $15 million profit. She bought it for $40 million.
We're told Parker approached Ellen and Portia late last month with the offer ... he went nuts over the famous house and Ellen's interior design. We're told even though she never intended to flip the house, she couldn't refuse a good deal. The escrow was all of 8 days. It closed last Thursday.
Jay Leno Has Late-Night Hosting Advice For Stephen Colbert
Jay Leno hosted The Tonight Show for 22 years and he spent almost all of that time atop the ratings, so he knows a thing or two about monologues, interviewing guests and what it takes to succeed as a late-night host on a major network.
And he thinks that Stephen Colbert is going to be great as David Letterman's replacement when the Colbert Report host assumes the Late Show throne at CBS next year.
"I think it's a real good choice," Leno told E! News' Jesse Giddings. "He's really funny and he's paid his dues. You know the people that do well at those jobs are the people that've paid their dues doing similar jobs, being a comedian on the road, doing a show on Comedy Central."

Joel McHale and Tony Hale Score Drugs In 'Comedians in Cars Getting Cocaine'

That’s one of the many takeaways from “Comedians in Cars Getting Cocaine,” The Soup‘s Joel McHale-hosted spoof of Jerry Seinfeld’s friendlier, Coffee web series. The video shows the cult-sitcom star picking up the, um, other cult-sitcom star for a nice top-down ride around Southern California.
They discuss Arrested Development, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and how Tony Hale likes to numb away his shameful past with the power of cocaine.
Funny stuff! And hey, it’s not a bad day for an on-point homage to Jerry’s work (complete with light jazz!), given that today marks the 25th anniversary of the premiere of Seinfeld.

After going through a tumultuous week in which his actions in New York City prompted an arrest, the 28-year-old actor seems to have taken things in stride, checking himself into a celebrity-frequented treatment facility in Hollywood.
This isn't the first time the former Transformers star had sought treatment but with his latest antics, he's taking things a bit more serious.
"Shia understands that these recent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem and he has taken the first of many necessary steps towards recovery," his rep said in a statement. "Contrary to previous erroneous reports, Shia LaBeouf has not checked into a rehabilitation facility but he is voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction."

Box Office: ‘Transformers 4,’ ‘Tammy’ Top Dreadful July 4th Weekend

“Transformers: Age of Extinction” topped a Fourth of July holiday that let out a whimper at the box office instead of a bang.
The giant robots sequel netted $36.4 million in its second week of release from 4,233 locations, pushing the $210 million production to $174.7 million domestically, according to studio estimates.
Among the crop of new releases, New Line’s “Tammy” fared the best, wrangling $32.9 million across 3,400 screens over its first five days, $21.2 million of it coming from the weekend. That’s a lower figure than pre-release tracking had suggested it would do, with most analysts predicting a debut of $40 million over its first five days in theaters.
The Melissa McCarthy comedy cost a modest $20 million to produce, so its opening figure still puts it on the path to profitability.
Warner Bros. distribution chief Dan Fellman said credit goes to McCarthy for bringing in crowds.
Joan Rivers Storms Out of CNN Interview: ‘Shut Up!’
Joan Rivers abruptly ended an interview on CNN Saturday after she grew frustrated with weekend host Fredricka Whitfield's questions, which she characterized as a “negative” attack rather than interview about a comedy book. “You know, you have some shock value to you,” the CNN anchor observed. “The cover of your book, you're wearing a fur and you knew that there would probably be animal rights activists…”
The E! host became fed up with the interview and she angrily cut her off, saying she was the wrong person to interview her.
