George Clooney Is OFFICIALLY MARRIED

Sorry ladies, there's no more time to object ... so forever hold your peace -- because George Clooney has finally married Amal Alamuddin.

The couple tied the knot at the Aman Canal Grande luxury resort in Venice, Italy Saturday ... his rep confirms -- and the ceremony was FILLED with celebs like Bono, Bill Murray and Matt Damon.

George and Amal were married by Walter Veltroni -- former mayor of Rome.

The couple started dating last October ... and things escalated pretty quickly ... especially for a guy who once vowed to never get married after things fizzled with his first wife, Talia Balsam.

R.I.P. Clooney's bachelorhood ... it was a good run.

George Clooney: The Final Hoorah Before Tying the Knot

George Clooney said arrivederci to freedom with the boys Friday night in Italy ... the day before he ties the knot with Amal Alamuddin.

Clooney and Amal starred at a rehearsal dinner with family and friends in Venice ... and it looks like they went on separate journeys afterward with their respective genders.

Clooney hit up a restaurant with all the other dudes -- it's unclear where Amal went.

Most of George's famous friends are also in Venice for the wedding ... including Bono, Bill Murray, Matt Damon and Ellen Barkin.

Now it's only a matter of time.

George Clooney's Wedding Happening This Weekend

George Clooney's wedding to Amal Alamuddin is going to be one A-list affair.

The nuptials are reportedly going down on Saturday in Venice, Italy -- and some of the groom's famous friends have already been seen arriving in the picturesque locale.

The future newlyweds were spotted on Friday riding around in the canals on a water taxi, where they were joined by BFFs Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber. The bride-to-be looked both elegant and gorgeous in a black and white striped dress -- and we really can't wait to see what she wears on the big day!

But the supermodel and her man aren't the only stars in town for the main event.

The actor's "Ocean's Thirteen" costars Matt Damon and Ellen Barkin have also been spotted in town, as well as George's father Nick, his actor cousin Miguel Ferrer, Toto guitarist Steve Lukather and actor Richard Kind, who had Clooney as the Best Man for his wedding.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour was also seen getting off of a water taxi, amid reports the couple's official wedding portraits will be featured in the magazine.

'Gilligan's Island' at 50: A Classic Comedy's Surprising Musical Legacy

Gilligan's Island is 50 years old. Its music is timeless.

"'Just sit right back, and you'll hear a tale...' The catchy theme from Gilligan’s Island is etched in the memories of generations of Americans, including mine!" Rick Bogard, music professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, said via email. "The familiar five-note intro is sure to send me to the television to watch another rerun of one of the favorite shows of my childhood."

Indeed, "The Ballad of Gilligan's Isle," written by sitcom creator and executive producer Sherwood Schwartz and George Wyle at the behest of network execs who worried audiences wouldn't understand how a shipmate (Bob Denver), a skipper (Alan Hale Jr.), a millionaire (Jim Backus) and the rest came to be stranded together on an uncharted island, is oft-cited as a TV favorite.

Don’t Expect To See ‘Aliens’ In ‘Prometheus 2′

For a movie that takes place in the same universe as the “Alien” movies, “Prometheus” was pretty light on the iconic creatures. The film’s only “Xenomorph” appears right at the end, as it bursts out of the chest of one of the godlike “Engineers.”

That last scene suggested to some fans that “Prometheus 2,” still in development, would include an expanded role for the Xenomorphs that terrorized Sigourney Weaver across four films, and did battle with the Predators in two other movies we’d like to forget. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

“Prometheus” director Ridley Scott suggests the Xenomorph is retired — or, at least, not a part of his plans for the sequel.

“The beast is done. Cooked,” Ridley said. “It’s very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it’s obscene. They didn’t want to do it and I said, ‘I want to do it, it’s fantastic.’ But after four [films] … I think it wears out a little bit. There’s only so much snarling you can do. I think you’ve got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we’ve found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start.”
