Billionaire Richard Branson had his home on a private island in the Caribbean burn to the ground this morning, and his 90-year-old mother would have died in the blaze too if Kate Winslet didn't come to her rescue.
Branson told what happened on his blog this morning. He said that 20 people were inside the home at the time of the fire -- but they all managed to get out fine, but his main house -- on Necker Island -- was completely destroyed in the blaze.
Branson said a lightning storm hit the house around 4:00 AM, which caused the house to engulf in flames. Branson also thanked Kate Winslet for helping to carry his 90 year mom out of the main house to safety.
