Michael Douglas and Matt Damon kicked off the evening with multiple wins for their HBO movie Behind the Candelabra -- the Liberace biopic -- taking prizes for Best Miniseries or Movie; Douglas winning Best Lead Actor; and Best Directing at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards.
Audience favorite, Breaking Bad didn't fare as well as hoped -- missing out on both Lead and Support Actor Emmys and Best Directing and Writing for a Drama Series. Homeland won for Best Directing and Claire Danes won the Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Jeff Daniels beat out Bad;s Bryan Cranston and Kevin Spacey in House of Cards to take Best Actor in a Drama for Newsroom.
Meanwhile, David Fincher took the prize for Best Directing, for the Netflix breakthrough series.
Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn did take the prize for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and as the final prize of the evening, it won Best Drama.
ABC's Modern Family picked up Best Comedy Series for the fourth consecutive year. Yawn....
