Moby Sells Historic Wolf's Lair Estate For $12.4 Million

Moby has sold his Beachwood Canyon estate, known as Wolf's Lair, in an off-market deal for $12.4 million, according to Variety's Dirt.

The musician bought the home in March 2010 for $3.925 million, and though he spent an estimated $2 million in renovations, he still ended up making more than twice what he put into it.

The mansion was built in the late 1920s for developer L. Milton Wolf, and rumor has it the Rolling Stones lived there for a while. The pics in this post were taken before Moby gave the place a facelift, and while it's not known what the exact square footage is, the home was last listed as having 8 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.

The 3.3-acre property includes a stone main house with turrets, and there are two guest houses on the property -- one sits by the pool and the other one was designed by famed architect John Lautner. The original owner had a secret tiki bar under the gate house and The New York Times reported in 2011 Moby planned to turn the lounge into an invitation-only magic theater.

Moby is no stranger to flipping homes, and in the last year alone he's made a number of moves on the real estate market. In June 2013 his Hollywood Hills pad for $2.85 million and suffered a $100,000 loss on the place but in May he unloaded his New York penthouse for $2.05 million, which was $100k more than the asking price.
