Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin threw down $14 million for this Malibu property in February, but it looks like this is merely a vacation home for the superstar couple!
It was revealed last month that Gwyn and Chris are planning on selling their 33-room London mansion for $11.5 million, but their $10 million mansion in Los Angeles' Mandeville Canyon neighborhood will remain their primary home. But hey, nothing wrong with picking up a seriously swanky estate in the 'Bu right before summer!
The Garwood Residence was built by John Lautner in 1972, and according to listing info, the property was "inspired by the award winning luxury brand, Aman Resorts." Still, the home is likely going to look dramatically different when Gwynnie is done with it, as she's hired Windsor Smith to re-do the interiors.
The home sits on a 1.09 acre lot and has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and though tax records show the square footage to be at 2,883, according to an article in the Wall Street Journal, when the property was first listed at $15.9 million, it was 3,650 square feet. (Thanks RealEstalker!)
The main living areas feature a post and beam structure with heated sandstone floors, and the "breathtaking grounds offer ocean views, landscaped gardens, a pebble stone pool, tennis court, gym and yoga studio." Notable neighbors include Julia Roberts, Kenny G., Don Rickles and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
In addition to their two Los Angeles homes and the U.K. pad they're trying to unload, the couple have a 3.5 acre estate in the Hamptons and a three-bedroom penthouse in New York City.
