Susan Sarandon and boyfriend Jonathan Bricklin have hit a rough patch, according to reports. Page Six alleges that the 68-year-old actress broke things off with the SPiN New York co-founder, 37, following a disagreement over a reality show.
No, they weren't fighting over whether or not Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna was too up in Kim Richards's business.
The couple of five years both appeared on AOL's Connected, which features "six personal stories, weaving together the lives and experiences of six New Yorkers in a format that merges the documentary, drama and reality genres."
Bricklin was one of the six New Yorkers who was given a camera to film his life for six months. Apparently, Sarandon grew "increasingly annoyed" with their personal lives being filmed.
"It caused a lot of strain in the relationship," a source told the paper. "It's documented for the show that Susan breaks up with him because she doesn't want to be involved with the show. She says, 'You're a cast member, I'm not.'"
Bricklin spoke with People and said the reality show isn't what caused the rift, but didn't offer much more insight.
"Susan and I have a lot of respect and great admiration for each other," Bricklin, 37, says of the Oscar-winning actress, 68. "It's impossible to concisely characterize our relationship, other than to say that it continues to evolve in new and unexpected ways. She supported my decision to be a part of AOL's Connected, and making this series about my life has brought up real and somewhat unexplored issues, but it didn't break us up."
Maybe this is all just a good marketing strategy? The show launches on March 31.
