Chris Brown Thinks Jay Z Got A Pass For "Stabbing Someone," "Selling Drugs"

Chris Brown is still continuing to play the victim card in his latest interview for next month's Jet magazine cover story. The R&B bad boy apparently doesn't understand why the public won't forgive him for his past missteps (namely his assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009) when it's so eager to forgive other celebs, including Jay Z, who pled guilty to stabbing record executive Lance "Un" Rivera in late 1999.

No disrespect, because I'm a fan, but nobody brings up the fact that he stabbed somebody and sold drugs. He gets a pass.

Breezy tweeted last month that Jay was stopping him from collaborating with his wife Beyonce,
Backpedaling ever so slightly, the "Forever" singer said facing backlash has only made him stronger.

You have to go through the struggle before you can get to the good part. I don't try to lash out at people, or be as mad or impulsive as I used to be. I got to the point where it's only so much you can take from the master, you feel me? I've taken my fair share of lashings.

Chris, who wears a hoodie on the cover of the magazine, says he can relate to Trayvon Martin, the teen who was shot by George Zimmerman in 2012.

I identify with Trayvon 100 percent as far as living in 2013 and still dealing with blatant racism. This generation is so used to racism that it's normal. We don't care. We aren't on drugs or catching AIDS, but they still look at us as n----s.

Jon Gosselin Fired Gun Shot Warning At Paparazzi Photographer

 

Just when you thought Jon Gosselin couldn't stoop any lower.

The former reality star reportedly threatened a paparazzi photographer by firing a gun at her on Friday in Pennsylvania, TMZ reports. Jon allegedly pulled a weapon on a photog who followed him to his Beckersville cabin from his new job as a waiter.

He yelling at her for trespassing, walked toward her aggressively, took a hand gun out of the back pocket of his pants, and fired off a warning shot. He later followed the woman in his car until she drove back on the main road.

The former TV dad made headlines earlier this week for taking on a job waiting tables at a local restaurant. Although he told Entertainment Tonight that his former TLC show didn't make him a millionaire, the actor surly made a fortune off Jon and Kate Plus 8, which was once ratings gold for the network.

Update: Jon admitted to firing the shot. He told Us Weekly the pap is the one who broke the law by trespassing on private property.

The paparazza followed me well off of the public roads and was trespassing on my private property when I confronted her. I informed the paparazza that she was trespassing on my private property and instructed her to leave. The paparazza refused to leave and continued harassing me and invading my privacy by trying to take pictures of me and my home. I am licensed to carry a concealed handgun, which I then withdrew and used to fire a warning shot away from the paparazza, which is well within my rights under Pennsylvania law when someone is trespassing on private property.

First U.S. Trailer For "Blue is the Warmest Color"

Sundance Selects/IFC Films have released the first official U.S. trailer for director Abdellatif Kechiche's latest film, La vie d'Adele a.k.a Blue is the Warmest Color (2013), starring Léa Seydoux, Adèle Exarchopoulos, and Salim Kechiouche. The film will open in select theaters across the United States on October 25th.

Blue is the Warmest Color, which won the prestigious Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, earned an NC-17 rating from the MPAA.

Elizabeth Hurley landed in New York City Friday just days after it was reported that she had broken up with fiance Shane Warne.

News of the breakup spread Wednesday after the 48-year-old actress posted a cryptic message on her Twitter account.

According to the Daily Mail, Hurley was all smiles as she arrived in NYC sans her engagement ring. Additionally, a source told the Daily Mirror the actress is "pretty fed up" with the relationship and has "had enough."

"She was infatuated with Shane but after their latest row, feels she has had enough and, quite frankly, has grown a bit bored with him and some of the things that come out of his mouth," the source added.
The source dismissed rumors that Warne's close friendship with ex-wife Simone Callahan had anything to do with the breakup.

"'The constant travel and work commitments for both Elizabeth and Shane are taking their toll. They have not been able to spend much time together, but they are going to try and work things out."

Miley Cyrus Moves Liam Hemsworth's Stuff Out Of Her House After Breakup

On Friday morning a large moving truck drove away from Miley Cyrus' Toluca Lake home, and we're not sure if Miley is back in the states yet, but either way it looks like she's eager to get former fiance Liam Hemsworth out of her life.

The couple confirmed the split on Monday after Liam was seen partying in Las Vegas with new flame Eiza Gonzalaez, and the very next day he Aussie hottie was seen making out with the Mexican starlet in Los Angeles. We suspected something was up between Miley and Liam for a while, but he was still living at her place until very recently (plus she accompanied him to the Paranoia premiere last month), so we were never really sure about their relationship status.

However, according to Life & Style, “Liam had been begging Miley to announce the split all summer.” So when did he first shack up with Eiza? "They met in Las Vegas at XS Nightclub during the Mayweather fight in the VIP section,” a source tells the magazine. “They spent that night together! Eiza says they are in love! They’ve moved really fast.”

Will.i.am SUES Pharrell In Copycat Lawsuit

Will.i.am has fired back at Pharrell in a lawsuit, claiming Pharrell is a serial thief who steals names for profit -- including Will's.

Pharrell has launched a YouTube channel called I AM OTHER. After Will fired off a cease and desist letter, demanding that Pharrell stop using "I AM," Pharrell filed a lawsuit, asking a judge to protect his right to use the "I AM" moniker.

Sources have obtained legal documents, in which Will.i.am is countersuing Pharrell, claiming the dude has a long, copycat history. Will.i.am notes, Pharrell co-founded a record label called Star Trak Entertainment -- sound familiar?

Will also notes Pharrell is being sued by Marvin Gaye's family for allegedly ripping off "Got to Give it Up" for his summer smash "Blurred Lines."

And finally, Will claims Pharrell also tried to register the trademark, Pink Slime -- which Will says is similar to Slime, owned by Mattel.

As for using "I AM," Will points out it will confuse people because they're both on the same record label and they have similar musical styles.

Simon Cowell has reportedly put his most recently acquired Beverly Hills residence on the market for $20 million, which is $4.5 million more than he paid for the place when he bought it in October 2011 from AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips.

The pad, which isn't even Cowell's primary residence, was built in 1966 but clearly has undergone extensive renovations over the years. Cowell spends most of his time at his Palm Drive mansion (purchased in 2004 for $8 million), and he also has another home down the street, which he bought in March 2006 for $5.7 million.

Jessie Spano and A.C. Slater forever! Elizabeth Berkley joined her old pal Mario Lopez for a segment on Extra at Universal Studios Hollywood on Wednesday, Sept. 18, and the pair looked excited to be reunited -- nearly two decades after Saved By the Bell's series finale!

Berkley, who is currently competing for the mirror ball trophy on this season of Dancing With the Stars, looked long and lean in a form-fitting blue dress that showed off her shapely legs. Lopez, meanwhile, donned a matching navy blue shirt and jeans.

"Tango time with my girl Elizabeth Berkley on Extra TV!" the show host (a DWTS alum himself) tweeted on Wednesday. "So proud of you."

This isn't the first time that cast members from Saved By the Bell have reconnected since the series' end in 1993. This past February, Tiffani Thiessen and Dennis Haskins, who played the principal on the show, were awkwardly reunited on the Today show.

Lopez, 39, played jock A.C. Slater on the hit 90s series, and had an on-and-off relationship with Berkley's character Jessie Spano. Lopez has also previously taken a spin on the dance floor, partnering with dance pro Karina Smirnoff both on and off the show.

The couple split in June 2008 after two years of dating, and Lopez recently welcomed baby boy Dominic to the world with wife Courtney on Monday, Sept. 9.

Jay Leno Opens Up About His Fling With Sharon Osbourne

Sharon Osbourne shocked fans this month after she revealed on "The Talk" that she and "The Tonight Show" host, Jay Leno, once had a short-lived romance back in the '70s when they were both single.

So, when former co-host of "The View," Joy Behar, stopped by Jay's show Wednesday night, she couldn't resist grilling him about it, and like it or not, Jay had to spill the deets about how it all went down.

"Gentlemen never discuss! First of all, this happened when we were both single. What happened was, she had seen me at The Comedy Store, I had never met her, and she got my phone number, and she called me every night at midnight for an hour," he dished.

Facebook Founder and Multi-Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg Has Embarked on a Multi-Million Dollar Renovation

The Dolores Heights pied-a-terre that Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and his bride bought a few months back for almost $10 million has turned into a real fixer-upper. According to San Francisco city records, the couple's contractor has taken out five construction permits this year for:

- A $720,000 addition of a first-floor office, media room, half-bathroom, mud room, laundry room, wine room and wet bar. Plus, a new second floor half-bathroom and remodel of the second, third and fourth floors.

- $750,000 in other additions to the lower floors, as well as a new roof and windows and reconfigured landscaping.

- A $65,000 kitchen and bathroom remodel.

- A $60,000 greenhouse.

- And finally, $30,000 to replace an exterior wall and stairway, plus seismic upgrades.

"It's nice to be rich," said one passer-by surveying the scene.

So far, Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, haven't even publicly confirmed they own the 5,542-square-foot, four-bedroom house, and the workers say they haven't actually seen the couple. It was purchased through a holding company run by a lawyer who specializes in forming trusts for high-end clients.

Pink And Cher SLAM Miley Cyrus For Controversial MTV VMAs Performance

 

Everyone is still talking about Miley's crazy MTV performance (or whatever you call that), and apparently half of the celebs in Hollywood are still throwing in their few cents as well. But given that her former fiance Liam Hemsworth is already making out with his new girl just days after their split announcement, we hope people will be a little bit nicer to the 20-year-old pop star!

"Am I into it?" Pink said in an interview with E! Online. "No, I think it's tacky ... She's really freaking talented; she's beautiful. She can sing her *ss off and to go up there and do that? She's cheating herself and she's cheating the rest of us ... She can do what she wants. People can like it if they want. I'm not going to buy it. She can do better. I've seen her do better."

But Cher held absolutely nothing back when she chatted with USA Today the other day. The music icon said Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards appearance "was so bad" and added, "I'm not old-fashioned. She could have come out naked, and if she'd just rocked the house, I would have said, 'You go, girl.' It just wasn't done well. She can't dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn't great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don't stick out your tongue if it's coated."

Hopefully Miley will act normal next time.

Piers Morgan HITS BACK at Jon Stewart: Start Worrying About Keeping Your Job!

In response to Jon Stewart mocking CNN for providing a “wrongnado” of information about Monday’s Washington Navy Yard shooting, Piers Morgan is advising the comedian to stop worrying about CNN, and start worrying about losing his job to John Oliver.

Oliver, a regular correspondent for “The Daily Show,” filled in for Stewart as host of the Comedy Central program over the summer while Stewart was busy directing his first feature film, “Rosewater.”

Stewart took CNN’s coverage of America’s most recent tragedy to task on Tuesday night by pointing out a number of occasions when various reporters — including Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper — openly acknowledged that information they were reporting “can obviously be very, very wrong.”

“I know you think that saying ‘This could all be wrong’ makes it OK to say it. But it doesn’t make it OK,” Stewart said. “No one else in the world is allowed to operate that way.”

Although Stewart did not mention Morgan in the segment, the “Piers Morgan Live” host did broadcast a blunder of his own by insisting during a debate with gun rights advocates on Monday that Aaron Alexis — the man who killed 12 people during a shooting spree in Washington, D.C. — legally purchased an AR-15 rifle from a gun store in Virginia.

“I’m telling you a fact, Ben. He bought it in Virginia. Legally,” Morgan told conservative radio host Ben Ferguson. “This is the problem with America’s gun laws. It’s not legal where he did the act, it’s legal around the corner. There’s no federal ban on AR-15s, so that’s why they keep being used.”

The FBI agent in charge of the investigation said on Tuesday that Alexis bought a shotgun to carry out the attack, not an AR-15 that Morgan insisted as “fact.”

“Lots of confusion over exactly what guns Wash Navy Yard shooter used,” Morgan tweeted on Tuesday. “But do you think it matters to the victims?”

'Big Bang Theory' Stars Seeking BIG Pay Raises

 

The stars of television's No. 1 scripted comedy are looking to cash in.

Co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch have received salary increases as leads Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco are seeking larger checks as well, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The moves come after co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch recently inked new deals with studio Warner Bros. Television to guarantee their long-term presence on the series, securing raises in the process.

Sources tell THR that Emmy winner Parsons (Sheldon), Galecki (Leonard) and Cuoco (Penny) will negotiate together -- as they did in 2010 -- and are looking for a considerable bump in pay from their current deal. According to a TV Guide Magazine report, the trio currently earns $325,000 per episode and may seek up to $1 million an episode.

Original stars Simon Helberg (Howard) and Kunal Nayyar (Raj) also are said to be looking for increases and will renegotiate together.

The new deals for Bialik and Rauch, who joined the series midway through its run and were promoted from recurring to regulars, will see their salary jump from $20,000-$30,000/episode to the $60,000 ballpark, with increases each year taking them to $100,000 per episode by the end of their new contracts.

CBS has renewed Big Bang Theory through its upcoming seventh season, which begins next week.

Chris Martin's DMV Session After Illegal Driving Exposed

Sources confirm Chris Martin has been scooting around L.A. illegally -- sometimes with his kid on the back seat, but today, the Coldplay singer raced down to the DMV to finally get a valid license to drive in California.

Records show Martin has never obtained a CA driver's license, despite the fact he's been tooling around town on his Vespa for week, which is a big NO NO in the United States.

The license issue just came to light after his wife Gwyneth Paltrow dangerously cut off a school bus on a Vespa -- while her daughter Apple (yes, that's her name) on the back seat. It was later revealed that GP didn't have a motorcycle license at the time of the incident.

Paltrow raced to the DMV days later and passed her tests -- and today, her husband followed suit.

Martin was spotted at the DMV in Santa Monica on Wednesday -- with his Vespa -- and good news, HE PASSED HIS TESTS sources say.

Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon showed their senses of humor in a hilarious new spoof on Late Night, and it's not hard to see why they are best pals in real life!

Playing pre-teens at sleep away camp, the talk show host and the Grammy winner break curfew and entertain themselves by singing along to Hootie & The Blowfish's "Only Wanna Be With You", annoying their counselor in the process.

The sketch is part of Timberlake Tuesdays on Late Night. The singer will appear every Tuesday in September as he counts down the days until his new album The 20/20 Experience is released on September 30.

Report: Jennifer Aniston Is Pregnant!

Jennifer Aniston is reportedly pregnant with fiancé Justin Theroux's child at age 44, Us Weekly reports.

The A-list actress is on the cover of this week's issue of the mag with the headline "Jen's Big Secret. Pregnant!", and although the star's rep vehemently denies the reports, the glossy provides proof of their claims.

Mainly, that the former Friends star has been going to great lengths to hide her growing baby bump while she promotes her two films We're The Millers and Life of Crime.

"Her stylist had to redo her whole press tour wardrobe," a source dished to the publication.
Us also cites a Smart Water photo shoot cancellation and the lack of new projects on her schedule as evidence that she's expecting.

"She's thrilled," the source added.

Sandra Bullock's career has literally been taken to new heights!

The "Gravity" star covers the October issue of Vogue where she gets candid about her life after her painful divorce from Jesse James and her much anticipated sci-fi flick.

While Sandra has faced personal hardships over the past few years, namely her 2010 divorce from Jesse after his cheating scandal, she is in a much better place now and believes that everything happens for a reason.

"We're all where we're supposed to be," she says of her life today. "I am exactly where I want to be now. You can't go backward. I'm not going backward. I'm grateful that I'm here, blessed to have what I have. Nobody can be prepared for anything."

The 49-year-old also adopted her son Louis the same year she split from James -- and she loves being a mom!

"Work was my life before . . . now I have no reason to leave home," she confesses. 

"If all of a sudden someone said, 'You have five more kids,' I'd be totally OK with it," she admits. "I'm having such an amazing time. Whatever comes our way, we handle as a family. It's not just me anymore."

Not only does Bullock seem like an excellent mom, she's an amazing actress. Sandra stars in "Gravity" alongside George Clooney -- the film has already gotten rave reviews since its debut at the Venice Film Festival.

Sandra believes her starring role, is a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity. "You check it off and go, "If it ends here, I've ended up on top," she says. "There's nothing else to do."

"Gravity" is set to hit theaters on October 4th.

Lindsay Lohan Is Dating Matt Nordgren

Rumor has it that, post-rehab, the actress who counts Wilmer Valderrama, Jared Leto, and restaurateur Harry Morton among her exes, has cozied up to reality star Matt Nordgren, from Bravo's "Most Eligible Dallas." Nordgren is a 30-year-old entrepreneur from Texas, whose resume includes years working as a partner in the family energy business, starting his own spin-off consulting firm, and founding an organization to help inner-city youth.

While he sounds perfect on paper, people who caught the short-lived 2011 show will remember that Nordgren wasn't the most loyal boyfriend. Even his official bio for the show described him as someone who's "often seen with a different girl on his arm" and "definitely plays the field."

Sources tell the New York Post's Page Six that Nordgren, who's romanced "The Bachelor's" Vienna Girardi and "The Hills" alum Audrina Patridge, is now telling people that he's dating Lindsay.

Lohan's rep declined to comment on the star's personal life.

Zac Efron Completes Rehab For Cocaine Addiction

Zac Efron did NOT go to rehab for alcohol abuse -- it turns out it was far more serious, because multiple sources say he had a serious cocaine addiction.

Zac completed his rehab stint earlier this year. We're told the problem spiraled out of control during the filming of Seth Rogen's movie "Neighbors," which was shot during a narrow time frame beginning in April.

Sources say Zac -- who also starred in the movie -- was a no-show on a number of days. As one source connected with the film said, "It was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine."

Three other sources confirm -- Zac's problem was rooted in cocaine, but say he also dabbled in Molly -- a pure form of Ecstasy, and a popular drug in clubs and raves.

Earlier this year, Zac and some friends went on a coke rager in a room at the SkyLofts at the MGM Grand in Vegas -- and caused around $50k in damage. No word on who took care of the bill.

First U.S. Trailer for Ruairi Robinson's "The Last Days on Mars"

Magnolia Pictures has released the first domestic trailer for director Ruairi Robinson's feature film directorial debut The Last Days on Mars (2013), starring starring Liev Schreiber, Olivia Williams, Romola Garai, and Elias Koteas. The film will open in select theaters across the United States on December 6th.

Earlier this year, The Last Days on Mars was screened in the Directors' Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival.

Gwyneth Paltrow: I Got My Motorcycle License -- So Watch Out!

Gwyneth Paltrow now has the legal right to put her child in harm's way on a Vespa -- because she just got her motorcycle license, sources have confirmed.

Sources say Gwyneth went to the DMV in Santa Monica this morning and tooled around the office on her infamous Vespa as the DMV employee watched ... and she passed!  She also passed the written test, so G.P. now holds a motorcycle license.

Here's what Gwyneth CAN'T do -- what she did last week, when she pulled away from the curb with Apple (her child) riding in the back seat, smack in front of a school bus that fortunately came to a screeching halt, averting disaster by feet.

Ben Affleck Has Three Words for Batman Critics: ‘I Handle S--t’

The 41-year-old actor, who has been villainized by critics and fans alike over his controversial casting as Batman in Zack Snyder's upcoming sequel to "Man of Steel," appeared on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" on Monday and told the talk show host that when it comes to the haters, his skin is thicker than the Kevlar Batsuit.

"I handle s--t. I'm very tough," Affleck explained to Fallon. "So, I saw the announcement, I look down the thing and I look at the first comment. The first comment goes, 'Nooooooooooooo.' I'm like, 'We're going to be Luddites for a while, kids.'"

According to the veteran actor, studio execs told him that the reactions to his big role might not all be positive. They said, "'Listen, we want to talk to you because people go through this process and it can be trying … We want to show you some of the reactions that past people who have been cast have gotten, like on the internet and stuff,'" Affleck divulged. "[They showed me] people who were in these movies who did a great job and [commenters would] say, 'Kill him!' You can't say that before a movie comes out. It doesn't matter what you think then, it matters what you think when you see the movie."

While the naysayers weren't going to stop him from taking on the superhero role, Affleck admitted that he even had his doubts about the job in the beginning. "They called me up and said, 'Do you wanna do this?' And I thought, 'Well, I'm not 25, man. Are you sure about this?'"

In the end, it was Snyder's tone for the film and the "Gone Girl" star's own children, Samuel, 1, Seraphina, 4, and Violet, 7, that sold him on the role. "Every kid should see their dad as a superhero, right? It's so awesome, man," he dished to Fallon. "I'm so excited."

Universal Eyes ‘Fast & Furious 9′ With 3-Movie Deal for ‘Tokyo Drift’ Star Lucas Black

With the last two installments in the “Fast & Furious” franchise grossing more than $ 1.4 billion worldwide and “Fast & Furious 7″ racing into theaters next summer, Universal Pictures is already looking down the road to ”Fast & Furious 9.”

Lucas Black, the star of “Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift,” has signed a deal to appear in the seventh film, with options to appear in the eighth and ninth installments, a spokesperson at Black’s agency ICM Partners told TheWrap.

Universal says it’s not yet developing “Fast & Furious 8,” let alone “Fast & Furious 9,” but confirms that Black’s deal for “Fast & Furious 7″ includes options for two additional sequel.

James Wan, who has guided “The Conjuring” and “Insidious Chapter 2″ to $40 million openings this year, is directing “7″ from a script by Chris Morgan. Neal H. Moritz is producing with Vin Diesel, who stars alongside Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou and Kurt Russell.

It’s not uncommon for studios to make talent deals ahead of time should they decide to make additional sequels, and while Universal is smart to cover its bumper, the studio may be getting ahead of itself here — after all, the “Fast & Furious” franchise flamed out once before.

Will audiences three-to-five years from now still pay to see more stories in which Dom Toretto (Diesel) races from the law? The gravity-defying action series has been trending upward at the box office, but Hollywood is a cyclical business.

It's not as if this news is shocking, considering there were signs of trouble for months.

The Hunger Games actor was spotted partying with Mexican singer Eiza Gonzalez in Las Vegas this past weekend, and the former Hannah Montana star unfollowed her beau on Twitter last week.

"Liam and Miley are completely done and broken up. She wants nothing to do with him, and vice versa. It's bad," a source told Us Weekly.

Supposedly the hunky Aussie was put off by his lady love's rebellious and hyper sexualized behavior in recent months, so we're guessing her embarrassing VMA performance was the nail in the coffin for their love story.

Britney Spears' Big Vegas Concert Announcement

 

Britney Spears will spill the beans about her upcoming Vegas spectacular tomorrow, and the announcement itself will be an extravaganza in the middle of nowhere.

Sources say Britney will unveil plans for her big new Planet Hollywood show from an undisclosed location in the Mojave desert at around 4AM PT, and it will be broadcast live on "GMA."

It's going to be huge -- 1,350 participants will be bused from Vegas to the desert.  And check this out -- all attendees must be between 5' and 6' tall ... we don't know why.

As for Britney ... she'll be arriving via helicopter.

We've learned the show announcing the show will cost roughly $100,000 -- including $27,176 to bus all the people (28 buses total), $4,200 for tents, and $5,154 for craft services ... which includes 2,100 bottles of water, coffee, 918 Gatorades, and 567 Red Bulls

We're told Britney will be performing her new single "Work Bitch," and she'll then blast specifics about her new show that debuts in December.

'Saturday Night Live' Names New 'Weekend Update' Anchor

Lorne Michaels tells The New York Times that Cecily Strong will join Seth Meyers on the anchor desk starting with the Sept. 28 season premiere. 

Executive producer Lorne Michaels said in an interview with The New York Times that Cecily Strong, who joined the show last year, will join Seth Meyers on the anchor desk starting with the season premiere on Sept. 28.

"Cecily, from the first show, was right there," Michaels said. "She exploded."

Meyers is departing the long-running NBC series in February to host the network's Late Night, taking over from Jimmy Fallon, who is taking over hosting duties from Jay Leno on The Tonight Show.

Michaels said his plan is to have Strong and Meyers co-anchor the segment together. It's possible that Strong could take over as sole anchor, but Michaels said he actually would like to see Meyers stay on "Weekend Update" beyond February. He said that, since Late Night doesn't tape on Friday, it's possible that Meyers -- who also was head writer before relinquishing those duties to Colin Jost and Rob Klein for the new season -- could do some work for SNL on that day.

Box Office: ‘Insidious’ Sequel Takes the Top Spot With $41 Million Record

FilmDistrict’s low-budget scarer sequel “Insidious Chapter 2″ beat expectations with an estimated $41.1 million, making it the largest opening in September for a horror film.

“Insidious 2,” which cost just $5 million from producer Jason Blum’s Blumhouse shingle, beat the month’s previous scarer record holdover, “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” which opened with $30.5 million in 2005. The FilmDistrict-distributed pic has the second-largest overall opening in September, behind only last year’s toon “Hotel Transylvania” ($42.5 million).
