NBC Pulls ‘Welcome to the Family,’ ‘Ironside,’ Sets ‘Community’ Return

NBC has removed “Welcome to the Family” and “Ironside” from its schedule and set a Jan. 2 return date for “Community.”

The Peacock also said that “Chicago Fire” spinoff “Chicago P.D.” will premiere Jan. 8 in the former 10 p.m. Wednesday timeslot of its forerunner, which now airs on Tuesdays.

“Ironside,” starring Blair Underwood, will vacate that time period after its fourth episode airs Oct. 23, in favor of editions of “Dateline” and various specials (including “Saturday Night Live”-themed specials, as well as consecutive holiday outings for Kelly Clarkson and Michael Buble in December) through the end of 2013.

Meanwhile, “Welcome to the Family” is being axed immediately after three episodes. An encore episode of “The Voice” will air on Thursday for NBC next week, with an “SNL Halloween” special a week later. Then, a live episode of “The Voice” will air Nov. 7, before “Parks and Recreation” returns with back-to-back episodes on Nov. 14 and again on Nov. 21.

“Community” will begin its fifth season and first after a year’s hiatus for showrunner Dan Harmon with back-to-back episodes before settling into an 8 p.m. timeslot on Jan. 9, bumping “Parks and Recreation” to 8:30 p.m.

Bill Russell ARRESTED For Carrying Gun At Airport

 

Legendary NBA player Bill Russell was arrested for taking a loaded gun through airport security.

The 11-time NBA champion was breezing through security at Sea-Tac International Airport in Seattle Wednesday when a screener noticed something funny in his carry-on.  Turns out, Bill was carrying a fully loaded, .38 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun.

He could be fined up to $7,500.

Russell -- who became the first Black coach in the NBA -- got the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2011, courtesy of Barack Obama.

Nicollette Sheridan’s Case Over ‘Desperate Housewives’ Firing Dismissed

 

A judge has dismissed actress Nicollette Sheridan’s long-running lawsuit against ABC over her firing from the hit series “Desperate Housewives.”

Judge Michael Stern ruled Friday that Sheridan’s case couldn’t proceed because the actress should have exhausted her claims to a labor commissioner before pursuing a trial.

Sheridan was seeking a re-trial on her claim that she was fired from “Desperate Housewives” because she complained that the show’s creator Marc Cherry hit her on the head in 2008 on the set.

A jury in 2012 deadlocked 8-4 in Sheridan’s favor that ABC had retaliated against Sheridan.

Adam Levin, an attorney for ABC, said the network was pleased with the ruling.

Sheridan’s lawyers say they plan to appeal.

Camera Stolen From 'Dumb and Dumber To' Set

 

One of the camera guys for "Dumb and Dumber To" is about to owe the studio a big fat I.O.U. -- cause while he was eating at IHOP, a $500k camera was stolen from his car.

The camera guy was eating something vaguely delicious while the evildoers broke into his whip.  Authorities think the crooks may have messed with the door lock.

The camera was reportedly being taken to a waiting helicopter where it was going to be mounted for a "To" shoot.

The photog is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who can help them find it undamaged.

The 2700 sq, foot two story Spanish style home has two and a half bathrooms, two bedrooms and a potential third bedroom that could be used as an office or art studio or whatever has a separate entrance and a private patio, a private bathroom, and a large storage space.

The house has romantic 20 ft. beamed ceilings in the main living room which open out until a lush front patio garden. The second story of the house has an extra wide, open hallway and balcony that has an office/sitting area that overlooks the expansive living room. Paul Hogan's wife and "Crocodile Dundee" co-star has filed for divorce after 23 years of marriage.

Linda Hogan -- cites irreconcilable differences. She wants spousal support, and joint legal and physical custody of their 15-year-old son, Chance.

As for money, Paul is worth a reported $20 million.

Linda wants to erase any trace of being married to the "Crocodile Dundee" legend -- she wants her maiden name restored.

Kendra Wilkinson And Hank Baskett Expecting Second Child

Kendra Wilkinson and husband Hank Baskett are expecting their second child, a source confirms to Us Weekly. "She and Hank have been planning a second baby for a while," the insider tells the magazine. "They are very excited."

Wilkinson and Baskett have been married since June 2009 and their son Hank Baskett IV will turn four in December. The magazine also reports that Kendra is about 8 weeks along.

This doesn't come as a total shock though. Back in August Kendra told sources she was ready to expand their family. "We are trying, we are going to start now," she said. "This is my first official announcement! We are very excited about making the decision to try!"

Michael Bay ATTACKED By Crazy Dude Wielding Air Conditioner

Famed director Michael Bay almost got clobbered by what appears to be a drugged out crazy who swung an air conditioner at his head on the set of "Transformers 4."

The incident occurred today in Hong Kong. The attacker somehow made it on the set, accosted several members and then set his sights on Bay.  When Bay realized what was up, he saw the crazy man swinging an air conditioner right at his noggin. 

Bay then wrestled the unit out of the attacker's hands and security quickly subdued him.

Global action star Liam Neeson stars in "Non-Stop", a suspense thriller played out at 40,000 feet in the air.

During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks (Neeson) receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the government to transfer $150 million into an off-shore account. Until he secures the money, a passenger on his flight will be killed every 20 minutes. NON-STOP, which reunites Neeson with "Unknown" director Jaume Collet-Serra and producer Joel Silver, co-stars Golden Globe Award winner Julianne Moore.

"Non-Stop" is set to hit theaters on February 28th, 2014.

Character Actor Ed Lauter Dies At 74

Ed Lauter, 74, a character actor who carved out a niche in the 1970s playing mostly heavies in movies and TV and kept up a busy schedule in recent years with appearances in Clint Eastwood’s “Trouble With the Curve” and Oscar winner “The Artist,” died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles.

Family spokesman Edward Lozzi announced his death.

Heidi Klum has purchased this $9.8 million mansion from Ed Weinberger (creator of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Cosby Show), and believe it or not, this is actually a downgrade for the German supermodel.

When Klum was with ex-husband Seal, the couple spent $14.2 million for a 12,300-square-foot mansion in Brentwood with 8 bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms on over 12 acres of land, but the new pad is a bit smaller with 6 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and just 11,000 square feet of living space. The new home sits on 4.8 acres of land, and it was previously listed in 2010 for $15 million.

Lamar Odom looked like he was on the road to recovery back on October 1 when this picture was snapped, and not only did the NBA star reportedly meet with his former Los Angeles Lakers bosses earlier this week, but now sources are saying that he's in talks to do a sit down with Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah and Lamar haven't come to an official agreement or set a date, but sources say that topics will include Lamar's drug use, his troubled marriage to Khloe Kardashian and his future in basketball.

Wonder how much of a pay day he'd get for this? After all, Lindsay Lohan got $2 million for her first post-rehab interview and an eight-part docu-series, so maybe Lamar could get something in the seven-figure range as well? Or at this point is he just trying to preserve his reputation?

Tom Hanks And Sandra Bullock Recreate 'Big' Piano Scene On "The Jonathan Ross Show"

It's been 25 years since Tom Hanks performed his famous "Chopsticks" piano dance from the movie "Big," but, at 57, the actor showed he's still got the chops.

Appearing on the BBC's "The Jonathan Ross Show" over the weekend to promote his new film "Captain Phillips," Hanks enlisted the help of his friend and "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" co-star Sandra Bullock to recreate the memorable scene from the 1988 film in which Hanks played a boy trapped in the body of a grown man.

After Ross rolled out a large keyboard carpet, Hanks and the talk show host jokingly "played" a much more elaborate piece with their feet before Hanks was joined by Bullock.

Dr. Conrad Murray will make his move after his release from jail in 2 weeks ... and sources say, he's vowing to break back into the business of doctoring.

Sources directly connected with Murray say, he plans to fight the revocation of his license in Texas. As for California ... revocation proceedings are on hold, but we're told he will fight that as well -- partly on grounds that he was singled out for unfair treatment because the patient -- Michael Jackson -- was incredibly famous.

Fact is, Murray has practiced for 20 years and aside from the Propofol disaster, his record is unblemished.  In fact, Murray has a legion of loyal patients who actually demonstrated on his behalf and were more than willing to fly from Texas to California to support him in court.

Murray is also taking solace in the fact that the jury in the MJ wrongful death trial concluded AEG was not off base in hiring him because he was a competent general practitioner.

It was rumored back in September that Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx were stepping out together, but now In Touch reveals that the two have been having quite a few sleepovers. Kinda weird when you consider that Jamie is great friends with Katie's ex-husband Tom Cruise, and they even starred in a movie together back in 2004 called "Collateral".

“Katie and Jamie have been dating for a while,” an insider reveals to the mag, adding that Jamie has been spending the night at Katie's apartment quite regularly. “They’re very Mission: Impossible about their romance."

Britney Spears Reveals New Album Title Is 'Britney Jean' To London's Capital FM Radio Show

This morning Britney Spears chatted with London's Capital FM radio show and revealed that her upcoming 8th studio record will be called "Britney Jean".

"[My family] always call me Britney Jean. It's like a term of endearment. I just wanted to share that with my fans," the 31-year-old pop star said. When asked if the new album will feature any collaborations with other A-listers (we're thinking Miley Cyrus!), Spears said, "You'll have to wait and see." The album comes out on December 3, so hopefully she'll give us more clues in the meantime!

Later that month Spears will begin her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, and when asked about that, she told the show, "I'm really stoked about it. I've toured the world so many times and have been in different hotels every night. It's going to be nice just to have one place to be at for me and my children and my family. A tour based in one place just seems ideal."

And it sounds like Brit's a big fan of Sin City, but not for the reasons you'd think! "I'm not much of a gambler," she admits. "I love the spas. I love the oxygen facials, and I like getting pampered. And the food is amazing! The food's crazy. I always gain, like, 10 pounds when I go. It's ridiculous."

Lamar Odom Meets With The Lakers To Discuss Possible Return

Lamar Odom got his hair cut in the valley on Monday, and not only did the troubled NBA star get his signature star shaved on his head, but his barber spilled the beans that Khloe Kardashian's estranged husband was meeting with his old team! Lamar's barber posted the picture above on Instagram and wrote, "Wish em the best of luck in his meeting wit the Lakers today."

The meeting took place that afternoon, and Lamar chatted with Lakers execs about the possibility of his return. Though Lamar started off with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1999 (he played with them until 2003), he was with the Lakers from 2004-2011, so it seems like his loyalty is with Kobe and company.

Indie Band "The Paper Kites" Releases Music Video Using 350 Faces And 4,000 Photos

The Paper Kites, an indie folk quintet based out of Australia, released the official video for "Young," the first single from their recently released debut album, "States."

The mesmerizing music video, shot over the course of a week last month by director Darcy Prendergast and photographer Oli Sansom, features more than 350 faces and 4,000 photographs, and took 10 days of post production work to assemble.

Piers Morgan Losing 9PM EST Slot On CNN?

A reliable source connected to CNN says that Bill Weir (right) has been promised a show during the 9 p.m. ET hour -- an hour that happens to be currently occupied by Piers Morgan.
 
According to the source, the details and timing have not yet been worked out (and it will likely take “many months“) but that Weir is expected to get either half or all of the 9 p.m. slot, meaning Morgan will either move time slots or, at best, reduce to a half hour of airtime per evening.

Another CNN source says that Weir’s show will likely launch in “late night” but if that happens, the goal would be to test it out for an eventual move to the 9 p.m. hour.

Christina Milian ELIMINATED From "Dancing With the Stars"

Singer Christina Milian was eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars” tonight, despite getting the first 10 of the season during this evening’s performance.

The ballroom audience booed when Milian’s name was announced, and many looked stunned.

Milian said she was “shocked” by the outcome.

“I wasn’t expecting that, but you know what, I think that we had the best performance tonight that we’ve had thus far,” she said.

Her pro partner, Mark Ballas, said he was proud of Milian’s accomplishment on the dance floor.

Spacejumper Felix Baumgartner: One Year Later

 

One year since eight million people watched his 834 mph jump from the edge of space, risking his life for a live audience, Felix Baumgartner has settled into a more regular lifestyle and is training to become a mountain rescue pilot.

Sources spoke to the Austrian ahead of a new documentary of the historic leap, who said he does not miss the thrill.

How did you celebrate after the jump?

We went to a steakhouse in Roswell, there were 25 of us who had been working together and it was very emotional. We couldn’t party in Roswell as there’s nowhere to go for that, but it carried on back in Austria and everybody wanted to speak to me.

What is your strongest memory of that whole experience?

My fight with the suit, because it was so scary and uncomfortable for me that I didn’t think I could overcome the feeling. But I worked with a very good therapist for three months and we got through it, and that made me feel like anything was possible.

Macaulay Culkin Makes Rare Public Appearance In New York City

Macauley Culkin is back in the public eye. Last summer, unconfirmed reports surfaced online that the former child star was battling a severe heroin addiction. But on Friday, Oct. 11, Culkin, now 33, made a rare public appearance at New York Comic Con with the cast of the Adult Swim cartoon Robot Chicken.

Though dressed in typically eclectic fashion -- featuring fuzzy pink animal ears, women's sunglasses, a beaded necklace, and a variety of rings and bracelets --  a bearded Culkin ad clearly put on a healthy amount of weight and looked markedly better than he did last August. The Home Alone star has voiced several characters on Robot Chicken and fielded questions with Seth Green, Breckin Meyer, and Matthew Senreich on this weekend's panel.

The two came together in Malibu this weekend to celebrate their daughter's 4th birthday ... and nearly 2 years after they split, it seems they've finally decided to play nice.

Heidi separated from Seal in January 2012 and filed for divorce in April. Heidi's story was that she couldn't handle Seal's explosive temper.

After the split, Seal accused Heidi of banging her bodyguard during their marriage and alleged that's why they broke up. It was pretty bad.

But now, it seems that's all water under the bridge.

Bob Costas Says Redskins’ Team Name Is Offensive During Halftime Essay On NBC

Bob Costas, in the powerful halftime slot of NBC's "Sunday Night Football," joined in the growing sentiment that the Washington Redskins' nickname is offensive and the team should change it.

In an even-handed essay, Costas said that the name is demeaning, despite no ill will being intended by anyone involved with the Redskins, including owner Daniel Snyder, or their fans. President Barack Obama recently said he would consider changing the name if he was the owner of the team, and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league needs to consider the issue.

Richard Branson's Necker Island Is Back Open For Business After Fire

Richard Branson's private Necker Island resort has been re-built after a devastating fire in 2011. The 74-acre property is available for rent for just shy of $60,000 a night or $412,000 per week.

The island can be rented exclusively for up to 30 adults, and the compound features eight guest rooms, each with a balcony, king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom. However, the best view comes from a 1,500-square-foot master suite that gives guests panoramic views of the British Virgin Islands.

The Great House was destroyed by a fire in August of 2011, which was reportedly caused by lightning from Tropical Storm Irene, and though other parts of the island have been open since the blaze.

Katy Perry brought the jungle to the stage when she performed her hit "Roar" on Saturday Night Live last night. Katy donned a teeny tiny leopard print dress, while her band wore animal costumes. From an elephant to a parrot, her musicians had the animal kingdom covered. That's as rock and roll as it gets!

Jermaine Jackson Says: Conrad Murray's Walking Free And My Family Is PISSED

Michael Jackson's family is suffering its second crushing blow this month -- Conrad Murray is about to be a free man -- and Jermaine Jackson says it's almost too much for them to handle.

Jermaine downplayed his mother, Katherine Jackson's loss to AEG in the wrongful death trial, telling us ... "It's not about the money. This guy is walking this month. He's walking free this month!"

Murray is scheduled to be released from jail on October 28, completing his sentence for the involuntary manslaughter of MJ. Murray actually got 4-years, but that was reduced to 2, due to jail overcrowding.

Box Office: 'Gravity' #1 Again With $44.3 Million; 'Captain Phillips' No. 2 With $26 Million

Adults fueled another strong weekend at the North American box office as Warner Bros.' Gravity stayed at No. 1 with a record $44.3 million and Sony's Captain Phillips opened to a solid $26 million. From director Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity raced past $100 million domestically to end the weekend with total earnings of $123.4 million.

Worldwide, the space epic -- starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney -- has earned $191.4 million. Gravity isn't as much of a monster overseas, but it is still doing strong business. It dropped only 27 percent in its second weekend, grossing $28 million.

When will Curb Your Enthusiasm season 9 air on HBO? Creator and star Larry David doesn’t know.

In fact, by the sounds of it, Larry David doesn’t know if Curb Your Enthusiasm season 9 will ever see the light of day. David was asked what the future holds for his beloved comedy show.

“I don’t know. I really don’t know. Ask me in six months,” he told reporters earlier this week.

David has a unique deal with HBO whereby it’s up to him to decide when a new season of the show begins shooting. This is so that David can take as much time as he needs to develop new arcs, and only decides to begin production when he feels inspired enough.

The actor’s “I really don’t know” answer could suggest that he’s not feeling particularly inspired right now for a ninth season.
