When he sat for his official portrait that would hang in California's State Capitol building in Sacramento, the former governor of California was painted wearing a lapel pin with wife Maria Shriver's face on it.

A sweet idea, his wife of nearly 25 years and then the first lady of the Golden State remaining close to his heart, despite not being in the frame. But that was then.

In 2011, the power couple announced that they were splitting up. Then it was revealed that Schwarzenegger had fathered a son with their former maid. And now, upon the portrait's grand reveal....

Adrian Peterson Booked For Child Abuse

Adrian Peterson turned himself over to authorities early Saturday morning on child abuse charges ... faintly smiling for his mug shot.

Peterson was booked in Houston just after 1 AM and released a half hour later.

The football star is accused of beating his 4-year-old son with a tree branch ... hitting him so hard it left welts and caused him to bleed.

Peterson actually admitted to cops he gave his son "a whooping" and says it's the same treatment he got as a kid. Peterson's lawyer adds that his client "deeply regrets the unintentional injury."

The Vikings have deactivated Peterson for Sunday's game.

Jennifer Lawrence Spends Quality Time At Chris Martin's Malibu Beach House

Chris Martin and Jennifer Lawrence are continuing their lovefest at the Coldplay singer's $14 million dollar Malibu mansion.

The two have been together for just over two months now, and after going on a romantic date at La Dolce Vita in Beverly Hills on Monday night, the lovebirds have been holed up in the 'Bu before for the last few days. Sam Worthington Sued For $10 Million, Accused Of Beating a Paparazzi

Sam Worthington and his girlfriend are now facing a $10 million lawsuit ... stemming from their violent run-in with a paparazzo in NYC earlier this year.

According to the documents, Sheng Li accuses Sam and GF Lara Bingle of viciously assaulting him in February outside a bar where he was snapping photos.

Both are also being accused of slander and libel ... for allegedly making false statements about him to the NYPD.

Li says he suffered a torn shoulder, facial contusions, injuries to his thumb and wrist, and adds he might need surgery ... according to the documents.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Goes For A Spin On His Classic Hog

Arnold Schwarzenegger knows a thing or two about cruising, as evident from his cruise through Malibu streets on his classic indian motorcycle just yesterday.

The 67-year-old Expendables star and former Governor proved that he knows more than just bikes and films, having went to Sacramento earlier this week at a climate change conference hosted by the California Environmental Protection Agency.

During the conference, he highlighted his work combating greenhouse gas emissions as well as explained how he started some of the state's biggest initiatives, including the $68-billion bullet train and the cap-and-trade program, both of which are being advanced today by Gov. Jerry Brown.

“While the politicians in Washington can’t get anything done because they’re stuck in these ideological foxholes, we here in California have two governors from two different parties in the same room fighting for the same green energy future," Schwarzenegger said.

Oscar Pistorius Found GUILTY of Culpable Homicide

 

After 41 days of testimony spanning more than five months, a verdict in the Oscar Pistorius trial has been handed down: GUILTY of culpable homicide, a ruling that comes with no minimum jail sentence.

Judge Thokozile Masipa handed down her decision Friday, a day after revealing to a packed courthouse and worldwide television audience that no, she would not find Pistorius guilty of murder – premeditated or otherwise. Instead, her determination is that the death of Reeva Steenkamp in the early morning hours of Valentine's Day last year was a tragic accident; that while Pistorius "acted hastily and used excessive force," he did not show intend to kill his girlfriend.

Asking Pistorius to stand, Masipa read her decision.

Not guilty of murder. "Instead," Masipa said as Pistorius, reactionless, looked on, "he's found guilty of culpable homicide."

Pistorius also faced three counts of gun charges – two for discharging a gun in public, one for illegal possession of ammunition. Masipa found him guilty of one of those charges – negligently handling a firearm in a restaurant.

Michael Moore’s Harsh Prediction of President Obama’s Legacy

Controversial documentary filmmaker Michael Moore is not one to mince words. While speaking at the Toronto Film Festival, Moore didn’t hold back his opinion on President Barack Obama’s legacy.

"When the history is written of this era, this is how you'll be remembered: he was the first black president," Moore said according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Moore went on to say while that’s not bad, he’s sure the president wishes he would be remembered for a few other accomplishments.

Moore doesn’t seem confident that any such milestones will be achieved during the rest of Obama’s term.

Moore is known for his political activism. He strongly supported Barack Obama for both of his presidential campaigns. But Moore has become disillusioned with the Obama administration over issues like the NSA leaks, campaign financing and drone strikes.

Roger Moore Remembers His James Bond Costar Richard Kiel

Former James Bond, Roger Moore paid tribute to his recently departed on-screen nemesis — and off-screen pal — Richard Kiel a.k.a. Jaws in a new interview.

The two tangled in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me and 1979’s Moonraker and remained friendly for decades after Moore turned in his license to kill and Kiel retired the steel teeth, which were so painful to wear, he was only able to keep them in his mouth for about 35 seconds per take.  

“It came as a hell of a shock,” Moore says of Kiel’s passing. “I’m still in a state of not quite believing it. We were talking a week ago [on] a radio program reunion.” (The exact cause of death remains undisclosed.) Moore characterizes the 74-year-old, 7’2” actor as “absolutely marvelous,” praising his warmth and willingness to help out whenever he was needed, such as when he helped promote Moore’s fundraising campaigns for UNICEF. “He was a big, caring man.”

Reese Witherspoon Buys Pacific Palisades Estate In Celeb-Studded Neighborhood

Reese Witherspoon is packing up and moving to a new home.

The Wild actress purchased a $12.7 million home in celeb-studded Pacific Palisades last month and the house was about three-quarters of the way finished, so now all she has to do is put her own, personal finishing touches on the home before moving in.

The gated half-acre lot is shaded by plenty of trees and features a pool and grill station in the beautiful back yard which overlooks Will Rogers state park and the perfectly manicured polo field and scenic hiking trails.

The home is a traditional American with painted-white brick and wood siding and black shutters, in keeping with the preferred style of the star-studded neighborhood. The Oscar-winning actress will count Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Matt Damon, Conan O'Brien, Adam Sandler and Kate Hudson as her neighbors.

Witherspoon listed her Brentwood estate for $14 million in June (the sprawling property sits on a total of three lots), and earlier this summer she purchased fixer-upper in Nashville, Tennessee for $1.95 million. The Oscar winner also sold her Ojai retreat at a million-dollar loss in January.

Oscar Pistorius' Time In Jail Could Be Brief

Oscar Pistorius has likely avoided 25 years to life in prison — for now at least — after a judge said Thursday she would not convict the paralympian of murder. 

The double amputee instead could serve as little as three years behind bars, or even a lengthy house arrest, after Judge Thokozile Masipa said she would not return a verdict of murder or premeditated murder. 

Masipa stopped short of delivering her final verdict, adjourning proceedings until Friday. But Pretoria-based criminal defense lawyer Marius du Toit told NBC News the judge made clear that her intention was to convict Pistorius of culpable homicide, a charge similar to manslaughter in the United States. 

The door was still open for the prosecution to appeal to try to make the murder charge stick. But were it to remain, a culpable homicide conviction carries a minimum five-year sentence. This means Pistorius could be out on parole in three years on good behavior. 

Joan Rivers Clinic Claims No Biopsy, No General Anesthesia

The surgery clinic where Joan Rivers' heart stopped beating is calling BS on a report suggesting her death was caused by a biopsy that should have only been performed at a hospital.

Yorkville Endoscopy broke it's silence after the New York Daily News story ran ... saying a biopsy was NOT performed during the ill-fated procedure.

The Daily News story claimed a doctor who arrived with Rivers was performing the biopsy after doctors spotted something on her vocal cords, and her vocal cords seized ... leading to a fatal chain of events.

And Yorkville went on to say they do NOT administer general anesthesia, saying they use "light to moderate sedation."

New York authorities are still investigating cause of death.

"Ray Donovan" Star Steven Bauer, 57, Spotted with 18-Year-Old Girlfriend

You might be thinking "What a cute photo of Steven Bauer and his daughter," right?

But no, that girl isn't the "Ray Donovan" actor's kid ... or his niece ... or his granddaughter. She's his girlfriend!

The "Scarface" alum, 57, was spotted out in Los Angeles on Wednesday with his much younger girlfriend, Lyda Loundon. Lyda, 18, is almost 40 years her male paramour's junior ... and also younger than both of his children.

The actor's son with ex-wife Melanie Griffith, Alexander, is 29, while his son Dylan is also in his mid-20s.

According to her Twitter page, Lyda is a self-described "part-time nightmare-inspirer, journalist, host of Sarcasm Overdose, ceo, film/music/cigar/espresso addict."

Bauer and Loundon have been dating for a couple months now, and stepped out for the first time together for a film screening back in July.

Richard Kiel 'Jaws' From James Bond Dies At 74

Richard Kiel, who became famous for portraying the James Bond villain, Jaws ... died Wednesday afternoon at the age of 74.

Kiel starred in dozens of movies over the span of 50 years ... though his Jaws character became his most iconic role after debuting in 1977's "The Spy Who Loved Me" alongside Roger Moore. He returned in "Moonraker" two years later.

The 7-foot-2 Kiel also co-starred with Adam Sandler in the golf classic "Happy Gilmore."

Kiel had broken his leg last week and was in a hospital in Fresno, CA. A family member tells us he passed away this afternoon in the hospital -- and it's unclear if his death was connected to the leg injury.

Shia LaBeouf Pleads Guilty To Disorderly Conduct, Sentenced To Complete 6 Months of Outpatient Rehab

Shia LaBeouf was in a New York City court this morning for sentencing stemming from his arrest at Studio 54 earlier this summer during a showing of Cabaret.

The actor entered a plea deal stating that if he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, he would be sentenced to six months of outpatient alcohol treatment.

LaBeouf took the plea and informed the court that he has already completed three months of outpatient rehab.

The judge also told the actor that he must have no new arrests for the next six months, at which point he may then withdraw his plea and have the arrest erased from his record.

President Obama Dissed By Trump Golf Course

President Obama's ongoing rivalry with Donald Trump may have hit him where it really hurts -- the golf course ... as the President was reportedly denied a tee time at one of Trump's famous courses over Labor Day weekend.

Obama tried to get tee times at Trump National Golf Club in Westchester County, NY -- but his advance team was turned away ... according to WNBC. A couple of other top notch courses -- the Winged Foot and Willow Ridge -- also refused the Commander-in-Chief.

WNBC says the club managers explained that giving the President a tee time would require shutting down the whole course and stiffing their own high-paying members.

Report: Joan Rivers’ Air Supply Cut Off From Unexpected Throat Biopsy

The routine surgical procedure that ultimately took the life of Joan Rivers was the result of an unplanned biopsy on her vocal cords, according to The New York Daily News.

The procedure is one that should not be conducted outside of a hospital, according to medical experts who spoke with the New York Daily News. Rivers underwent the procedure at Yorkville Endoscopy in New York, which generally deals with digestive issues.

The biopsy caused the “Fashion Police” star's vocal cords to seize, known as laryngospasm. The medical source told the paper that had this procedure been done in a hospital, Rivers may have survived. The source further alleges that Rivers had only signed off on an endoscopy.

Representatives for Joan Rivers, as well as her daughter Melissa, did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment.

Katey Sagal Has "Married With Children" Reunion at Walk of Fame Ceremony

Katey Sagal received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, and her "Married With Children" family was on hand to celebrate the actress' 40-year career.

The Hollywood veteran was joined by fellow Bundys Christina Applegate, Ed O'Neill and David Faustino ... as well as her "Sons of Anarchy" costars and husband Kurt Sutter.

The 60-year-old actress has built an impressive resume of film and TV roles, but she’s most famous for two unforgettable television characters: Peg Bundy on "Married With Children," which ran for 11 seasons on Fox, and Gemma Teller Morrow on "Sons of Anarchy," which wraps after seven seasons this fall on FX.

"I met Katey when I was 15 years old, so it's been about 10 years since we met," Applegate joked at the ceremony. "I'll never forget the day that I met her. I walked into the rehearsal hall for 'Married with Children' and she was sitting there wearing a white t-shirt and jeans and I've never seen anyone look that good in a white t-shirt and jeans in my entire life. The fact that your body is better now than it was then makes me sick, because I'm wearing a Fitbit trying to get rid of all my baby weight! I couldn't love anybody more."

"Stopping domestic violence is something that's bigger than football – and all of us have a responsibility to put a stop to it."

We could hear the sound of metal crunching -- rare, classic, expensive, vintage metal, by the way -- from across the street. A sickening sound to a car person."

Ray Rice CUT BY THE RAVENS Suspended By NFL

Ray Rice has been cut by the Baltimore Ravens and indefinitely suspended by the NFL ... and it's all over the video.

The team just announced it has terminated Rice's contract this afternoon ... hours after footage of the Pro Bowl running back attacking Janay Palmer in an elevator back in February.

Rice was in the middle of a 5-year $50 million contract he signed with the Ravens back in 2012.

The NFL had previously suspended Rice 2 games for the incident -- but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell later admitted he screwed up in punishing Rice too lightly ... and instituted harsher punishments -- a 6 game suspension for first time NFL domestic violence offenders.

But ironically Goodell violated his own new policy with an indefinite suspension ... which makes the NFL sound like an organization out of control and ducking for cover.

CBS Names James Corden To Replace Craig Ferguson

British actor James Corden will replace Craig Ferguson as host of "The Late Late Show" on CBS next year, part of a complete overhaul of the network's late-night talk show lineup put in motion by the impending retirement of David Letterman.

The network said Monday it had picked Corden, who won a Tony Award in 2012 for his role in the play "One Man, Two Guvnors" and appears in the movie "Begin Again" with Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo. 

Corden is also in the upcoming film "Into the Woods" with Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp. He hosts a sports-oriented game show in Britain, and also acts in and writes the BBC series "The Wrong Mans."

Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS entertainment, called Corden "a rare entertainment force who combines irresistible charm, warmth and originality with a diverse range of creative instincts and performance talent."

Prince William And Kate Expecting Second Baby

Britain's Prince William and his wife Kate are "very pleased" to announce that they are expecting their second child, Kensington Palace said on Monday.

The prince's grandmother Queen Elizabeth II was said to be "delighted" at the news, which comes less than 14 months after the birth of the couple's first child, Prince George.

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is again suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a form of very acute morning sickness that caused her to be hospitalised when she was pregnant with George.

The duchess, 32, is currently being treated by doctors at the couple's London home in Kensington Palace, a spokesman said.

She was due to attend an official engagement in Oxford on Monday but cancelled because she has morning sickness, the palace said.

Box Office: 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Leads For a Third Consecutive Weekend With $10.16M

Disney-Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” the summer’s biggest success story, ruled at the sleepy U.S. box office with an estimated $10.2 million at 3,221 locations in its sixth weekend.

“Guardians” provided the only heat at multiplexes after the major studios had eschewed opening any new releases — and moviegoers responded by staying away, leading to what’s likely to be the quietest weekend of the year as “Guardians” notched the lowest first-place finish of 2014.

The only new entry was Freestyle’s faith-based “The Identical,” which showed little traction with $1.9 million at 1,966 sites, counter to recent Christian-driven successes such as “Heaven Is for Real,” “God’s Not Dead” and “Son of God.” “The Identical” came in 11th behind Universal’s seventh weekend of  “Lucy.”
