Academy Award Nominee: Oscars are Run By Old 'White Men' Who Take Bribes

Oscar nominee Julie Delpy has some pretty HUGE BALLS for a woman... because the screenwriter just spanked the Academy hard -- saying it's just a bunch of crusty white dudes who take BRIBES for votes.

Delpy -- who's nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for "Before Midnight" with Ethan Hawke -- told the Independent the awards are meaningless because voters are, "90% white men over 70 who need money."

"They haven't done anything in a long time," Delpy continued ... "You just need to give them two or three presents and they're in your pocket. It doesn't mean anything to me."

The actress also roasted the Weinstein brothers claiming they killed the independent movie scene ... and then dissed her own flicks, saying, "Every time I've become a part of the Hollywood mainstream, it's been crap! Let's be honest: 90% of movies made in Hollywood are crap."

Guess no one ever told her not to bite the hand that feeds you ... even if it's old, white and (allegedly) corrupt.

Paris Hilton posed for some racy pics of the newest issue of V Magazine, in which she straddles a disco ball and turns her pert bottom to cameras while bent over her signature pink Bentley.

In a new interview with the magazine, 33-year-old socialite-turned-DJ talked about her new career.

"I don't consider myself a DJ," the leggy blonde admitted. "I am a businesswoman, and this is just a small part of what I do. I love music and I love partying, so it's a fun job for me."

Also in the issue the former reality star posed in pink lingere as she straddled a disco ball and leaned over her Bentley.

The socialite, who has been DJing for three years, has been getting some big paydays for her spinning sets.

"I've been getting huge offers from all around the world, so I thought, Why not?" she said. "One of my favourite experiences was performing in Macau for the Red Cross benefit for relief efforts in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan."

Although he was placed in a "drunk tank" to sober up, no charges were filed against the funny man.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Killed By OD Heroin, Coke, Rx Meds

Philip Seymour Hoffman was killed earlier this month by a deadly mixture of heroin, cocaine, and several other drugs -- this according to the NYC medical examiner.

The medical examiner just released the official cause of death -- listing "acute mixed drug intoxication" as the reason PSH passed away suddenly on February 2nd.

According to the medical examiner, the drugs in the actor's system at the time of his death were heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines (anti-anxiety) and amphetamines (uppers like Adderall).

Mixing heroin and cocaine is often termed "speedballing." It's the same mixture that killed Chris Farley, River Phoenix, and John Belushi.

Oscar host Ellen DeGeneres sat down with Parade Magazine days before the big show to discuss all things movies and Academy Awards, including why her initial reaction to hosting for a second time around was "no," on her decision to not dance on the Kodak stage, on being the inspiration for current Oscar nominee Sandra Bullock's 1999 hit "Miss Congeniality" and more. On why she initially said no to hosting the Oscars again (her 2007 hosting earned her an Emmy nomination):

The "Oz: The Great and Powerful" star, 30, was spotted out earlier today sporting a massive rock on that finger.

The two, who first met back in 1998 when they costarred on "That '70s Show," have been dating for almost two years. They got together following Ashton's split from Demi Moore.

This will be the first marriage for Mila and the second for Ashton, who was hitched to Demi from 2005 until they separated in 2011. Their divorce wasn't finalized until November 2013.

Jay Leno Makes Surprise Appearance On 'Arsenio Hall Show'

In his first appearance on television since stepping down as host of "The Tonight Show," Jay Leno turned up on Wednesday’s edition of "The Arsenio Hall Show" to break the news that Hall's syndicated program had been renewed for a second season.

"We've known each other what, 35 years?" A casually dressed Leno asked Hall after sneaking up behind the "Coming to America" star during his monologue.

"Yup, you've been a big brother to me," Hall said. "You've given me too much advice sometimes."

Leno then pulled an envelope out of his pocket and read aloud that CBS Television Distribution, the company that produces the program, had renewed it for another year.

Hall, appeared to be at a loss for words, until Leno quipped, "He's more annoyed that I knew before he did."
 

Leonardo DiCaprio May Have Bought Dinah Shore's Former Palm Springs Pad For $5.2 Million

There aren't many details and this could be totally false, but RealEstalker reports that Leonardo DiCaprio may have purchased Dinah Shore's former pad in Palm Springs for $5,230,000.

The 1.34 acre estate was custom-built in the 1960s by Donald Wexler for Shore, and it sits in the Old Las Palmas neighborhood. TV producer David Lee purchased the home in 2002 for $3 million, but in 2009 he put it on the market for $5,995,000. The home sold again in April 2011 for $4.9 million, and it was put back on the market in January for $5,495,000. The home sold this week to someone who requested that all parties sign confidentiality agreements.

This couple calling it quits is a little surprising, considering there were rumors of an imminent proposal recently.

The pair began dating in the summer of 2012, split briefly last March, and then reconciled.

The Abrams family picked up the 8,000-square-foot home in early February (it was listed for $15.35 million), and it has 7 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms and sits on a .6 acre lot. In case you didn't know, Abrams is the writer/producer responsible for hits on the big and small screen, including Star Trek, Mission Impossible, Fringe, Heroes, Lost, Alias and Felicity. His net worth is estimated to be around $100 million, but that seems a bit low to us.

Lil Wayne Takes Us On A Tour Of His New Orleans Mansion

In the latest installment/webisode of "Weezy's World," rapper Lil Wayne took us on a tour of his New Orleans mansion, and while the video starts off with him smoking a blunt and grabbing a breast on a sculpture, he does eventually show off the inside of his 10,000-square-foot pad.

There are 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, and brag-worthy features include a home theater, a recording booth and an indoor skating park. We're not exactly sure what he's saying when he shows off his empty closet, but it is pretty impressive in size.

The rapper bought the home for $1.75 million in January 2007, and thought he put it on the market for $1.7 million back in 2011, it looks like he's decided to hang onto it a little bit longer.

"Girls" Star Adam Driver to Reportedly Play New "Star Wars" Villain

Adam Driver's embracing his dark side!

The "Girls" star is in talks to play the villain in "Star Wars: Episode VII," Variety reports. While nothing has been signed, it's almost a done deal.

Adam's HBO costar Lena Dunham seemingly also confirmed the news via Twitter on Wednesday as well.

The bad guy in the new "Star Wars"film is also rumored to resemble the iconic Darth Vader -- and Driver is one of the first stars to be linked to the highly-anticipated (and totally top secret) sci-fi flick.

The movie is set to begin shooting in April and will be based out of London's Pinewood Studios, so expect to know the full cast soon!

"Star Wars: Episode VII" is set to hit theaters December 18, 2015.

Seth Meyers' 'Late Night' Ratings Are In

Seth Meyers had big shoes to fill on Monday night.

Meyers took over the "Late Night" chair from former "Saturday Night Live" alum Jimmy Fallon, who arguably had a great run as that show's host as he crafted now-pop culture favorites like "Slow-jamming the News" and "The History of Rap."

So how did Meyers do with his debut? The reviews are in, and they range from "meh" to middling.

The Daily Beast, which thought Meyers got "off to a rocky start on 'Late Night,'" noted that the newcomer "had a few missions to accomplish when we ran into him on Monday night."

The fates are pretty much sealed for two cast members on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" -- sources say producers are gunning to replace them next season ... because they're just not exciting enough.

Sources say, there's a 95% chance Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia won't be back for Season 5 -- they're just not involved enough in the series' story lines to justify their coveted spots in the cast.

We're told it became obvious Joyce and Carlton weren't jiving during the reunion show taping earlier this month -- all the other women had great chemistry ... and Joyce and Carlton were clearly outsiders.

But the feeling's not mutual -- at least for Carlton, who tells us, she'd love to return for Season 5 if she gets asked back.

Sources confirm, producers are already on the hunt for replacements.

Justin Bieber Going To Trial In DUI Case

Justin Bieber and Miami Beach prosecutors will NOT strike a plea deal in his DUI case ... and sources connected with the case say a trial is now almost certain.

Prosecutors are offering a no contest plea to reckless driving, with strings attached ... notably Justin must submit to random drug testing for 6 to 9 months. Sources connected with Bieber say they will NOT accept any plea that has probationary terms ... especially drug testing.

Now law enforcement sources say ... they will not deal if Justin does not agree to random drug testing ... period.  As a result, both sides are at an impasse.

With a plea deal all but off the table, a trial is likely.  Law enforcement sources acknowledge there are problems with the arresting officers ... the fact that he may have lied when he said he smelled alcohol on Justin's breath (he blew a .014).  And another cop claimed Justin was drag racing (at 27 MPH).

Nonetheless ... we're told prosecutors are not afraid of trying the case.  And Justin's famed lawyer, Roy Black, is ready for a courtroom battle.

At stake -- Justin could be tried for 3 offenses ... DUI, resisting arrest, and driving on an expired license.  Worst case scenario -- 2 1/2 years in jail.

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton Separate

"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the couple tell PEOPLE on Monday in an exclusive statement.

The pair, who first met when Thicke was 14, have been married since 2005 and welcomed son Julian Fuego in April 2010.

The singer, 36, long had been very expressive about his marriage to the actress, 38, saying last fall, "We're pretty sure we've loved each other for a few lives."

Harold Ramis Dies At 69

 

Hollywood legend Harold Ramis -- famous for his films "Caddyshack," "Ghostbusters," "Groundhog Day," and "Animal House" -- has died.

According to his family, the writer-director passed away early this morning at his Chicago home from complications stemming from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease involving the swelling of blood vessels. He was surrounded by his family.

Ramis was 69. He is survived by his wife Erica, his sons Julian and Daniel, his daughter Violet, and two grandchildren.

Ramis began suffering from health issues related to his autoimmune disease in 2010.

In addition to "Caddyshack" and others, the comedy legend directed "National Lampoon's Vacation," "Analyze This" and several other films. He also wrote sequels to his films, like "Ghostbusters 2" and "Caddyshack 2."

'Piers Morgan Live' To Be Cancelled

 

CNN president Jeff Zucker has decided to end television host Piers Morgan's show after its ratings plunged, sources at the television network said.

The former British tabloid editor -- who irked conservative Americans after launching somewhat of a crusade for greater gun control measures -- struggled after stepping into the shoes of popular, down-to-earth host Larry King in the coveted 9:00 pm primetime slot.

King, an 80-year-old talk show star who now hosts a show broadcasting on Hulu, Ora TV and Russia's RT television, is known for his ability to connect immediately and easily with ordinary Americans. He hosted "Larry King Live" on CNN from 1985 to 2010, wearing his trademark wide-rimmed glasses, shirt with rolled-up sleeves and suspenders.

Morgan, in contrast, was inherently British and not just in his accent. In particular, he made repeated references to cricket, a sport with little US presence, and professed his ignorance about American football and preference for the round football, soccer.

Erin Andrews Tabbed As New Co-Host For 'Dancing With the Stars'

 
Erin Andrews will be making a return to ABC and its "Dancing With the Stars" show, except this time she'll be hosting, according to a report.

Andrews, who currently works as a sideline reporter and host for Fox Sports, competed on the show in 2010 with Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

The duo came in third place.

Andrews is expected to fill the spot alongside host Tom Bergeron (yes, he of America's Funniest Home Videos fame) after Brooke Burke announced her departure from the show recently.

ABC is expected to announce the news on Monday.

Justin Bieber Renting Spaceship Mansion In Atlanta

Owned by record producer and pal Dallas Austin, the 5,500 square-foot abode is relatively secluded from neighbors, which is probably a good thing considering how many problems he had with residents of his gated Calabasas community.

According to sources, The Biebs will reside here while he works on an upcoming hip hop album in the rap captial.

JB was reportedly eyeing another mansion in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta near his mentor Usher, but it is still unclear if he plans on plunking down the $10.95 million to become the proud owner.

Mel Gibson is All Smiles In Malibu

You can see the pleasure in Mel Gibson's face as he left a restaurant in Malibu. He didn't want to talk about Oksana Grigorieva and the fact that she has gone belly up ... filing for bankruptcy. But you can see a certain peacefulness and calm that hasn't been exactly front and center.

As we previously reported ... Oksana could have been set for life if she didn't reject Mel's $15 million settlement back in the day, when those tapes were just between them. But she got greedy, and ended up with $750K and lots of lawyers bills. And half of that money was taken away because she blabbed about Mel ... violating their confidentiality agreement.

Fact is ... Oksana is still riding Mel's gravy train.  He's paying $20K a month for child support, and that will likely last until Lucia turns 18.

Box Office: ‘Lego Movie’ Takes First Place With $31 Million

“The Lego Movie” was No. 1 for the third straight weekend with $31.4 million. The animated hit comedy based on the plastic toy building blocks is still in a market-high 3,890 theaters and it dominated, more than doubling the totals of two movies that opened this weekend.

The Kevin Costner spy thriller “3 Days to Kill” was second with $12.3 million and the pricey volcano epic “Pompeii” fizzled with $10.1 million for third.
