Apple's Tim Cook Says That He Is 'Proud to Be Gay'

Timothy D. Cook, Apple’s chief executive, said he was “proud to be gay” in an essay published early Thursday, becoming by far the most prominent executive of a public company to come out.

“Let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me,” Mr. Cook wrote in the essay, published by Bloomberg Businessweek.

Mr. Cook, 53, has never spoken publicly about his sexual orientation in the many years he has worked in the spotlight at Apple.

In his essay, Mr. Cook also noted that he had spent much of his life trying to keep his personal matters private, which is why he had not previously spoken in public about his sexual orientation.

“Apple is already one of the most closely watched companies in the world,” he wrote, “and I like keeping the focus on our products and the incredible things our customers achieve with them.”

Roman Polanski Evades Arrest In Poland As U.S. Renews Chase

Roman Polanski has evaded a fresh bid by U.S. authorities to have him arrested with a view to extraditing him.

U.S. officials requested that the Polish government seize the director as he visited Poland to attend the opening of a Jewish museum in Warsaw. Polanski was questioned by prosecutors in Krakow today.

“Roman Polanski said he would comply with all requests made by prosecutors in this case and provided his address,” Poland’s justice ministry spokesman Mateusz Martyniuk told Afp.

“Prosecutors therefore decided not to arrest him in connection with a possible U.S. extradition request.”

Martyniuk said Polanski’s extradition to the U.S. was still possible, but as the U.S. had yet to make an extradition request Polanski “is a free citizen and is free to travel.”

Polanski pleaded guilty to having sex with 13-year-old Samantha Geimer in the U.S. in 1977, but left the country in 1978 before sentencing.

Queen Latifah CANCELS Cosby Interview After Rape Allegations Resurface

Bill Cosby won't be promoting his new comedy tour on Queen Latifah's talk show ... because the Queen and her crew got cold feet after rape allegations resurfaced.

Comedian Hannibal Buress called Cosby out last week during a stand up set ... wondering out loud if people remembered Bill had been accused of rape by 13 women over the years. The old news got re-circulated, even though there were not fresh allegations.

Production sources tell us Latifah honchos didn't want the association so the 86'd Cosby. They're particularly sensitive because a video from Latifah's show just went viral, showing a 13-year-old gay kid going crazy on the show after winning VIP Ru Paul tickets.

Cosby has never been criminally charged with sexual assault ... but he has been sued.

As for Latifah ... good thing Jon Cryer is still booked.

Iggy Azalea Might Like Her Moles (But 'SNL' Apparently Doesn't Agree)

Apparently Saturday Night Live didn’t think they were beauty marks. 

The show removed musical guest Iggy Azalea’s moles from the pictures they showed of her during the broadcast — and the singer responded that she wished they hadn’t. 

“I loved the promo pictures but I wish they hadn’t photoshopped all my moles off my face (hey, I like those things!!),” Azalea wrote on Instagram after her SNL performance.

Her fans agreed. On Pinterest, a user named Tormented Sugar put up a digital image of Azalea with the birthmarks reinstated.

“Put back the moles on iggys face snl shopped out….” she wrote. “Moles are beautiful! My daughter has 3 on her temple she HATES. I remind her Marilyn and Iggy have moles…our 2 fave blondes.” 

While SNL’s reason for removing Azalea’s moles is unclear, the late night comedy show’s promos and interstitial stills on commercial breaks have historically been done in a very blown out manner. Photos of various musical guests and celebrity hosts such as Katy Perry and Anna Kendrick have undergone the same heavy-handed digital manipulation as the Australian rapper. Because these images receive such a highly saturated treatment, it’s possible that the 24-year-old’s moles could have been distracting.

Ellen DeGeneres And Portia De Rossi Are Set To Split

After an epic fight it appears as though, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are headed for splitsville.

The two were reportedly en route to the Saving SPOT! animal charity fundraiser in Santa Monica on Sunday, when they got into a battle of words and cancelled on the event last minute.

The duo "were in the car on the way, when they had an epic fight" and "ended up turning around," reports the New York Post.

The source told the newspaper that, "Reporters were told they were on their way, until the head of the charity informed everyone at the end of the event that they weren’t going to make it due to "logistics.'"

But the daytime talk show host and the Arrested Development actress are shooting down the reports saying in a statement, "We were happy to lend our names as honorary chairs and the organization was always aware that we would be unable to attend.

Jane's divorce from Dr. Lara Embry became final Monday. In the property settlement -- obtained by sources, it's apparent gay divorces are just like all the others ... the breadwinner has to give up half.

It's over for Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin.

The 24-year-old Oscar winner and the 37-year-old Coldplay rocker have split, sources have confirmed.

Lawrence began seeing Martin in late June, shortly after her split with X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult. The musician, meanwhile, announced his separation from ex Gwyneth Paltrow after more than ten years of marriage in March.

The Hunger Games actress most recently supported the recording artist when he performed with Kings of Leon at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this month. She was also on hand when the father of two took the stage in September at the iHeart Radio Music Festival.

Throughout the course of their relationship, Lawrence and Martin stayed mum on their romance, and they were only photographed together once during their nearly four-month relationship.

Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp have reportedly reconciled.

The 52-year-old actress and the rock singer-songwriter, 63, ended their three-year courtship in August, but sources told People magazine the two have decided to give their relationship another try.

"They are back together and it's brand new," said the insider. "They're really happy about it."

Ryan and Mellencamp were last seen together on Oct. 15 as they walked through Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood.
