Official Star Wars Poster Revealed, New Trailer Coming Up

A brand new trailer for director J.J. Abrams' highly-anticipated upcoming film Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens will be revealed later tonight during the NFL game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia. The trailer will premiere during the half-time break. (Blu-ray.com will update this announcement as soon as the trailer becomes available online).

Disney also introduced the new official poster for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, which is set to open in IMAX and theaters across the nation on December 18.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan & Abrams, features a cast including actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. They will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

Marvel's Ant-Man Blu-ray

Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Home Entertainment have announced the Blu-ray release of director Peyton Reed's Ant-Man, which stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña and Judy Greer. The size-altering superhero action/comedy marks the final Phase II film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and arrives via 2D and 3D Blu-ray combo packs on December 8th.

Official Synopsis: The latest evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Lilly co-stars as Pym's daughter, Hope Van Dyne, alongside Stoll as the film's villain, former Pym protégé Darren Cross (aka Yellowjacket). Peyton Reed is directing from a script written by Adam McKay, Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer, based on a story and initial screenplay by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish. Kevin Feige is producing. Russell Carpenter is the film's cinematographer.

Jurassic World Sequel Set For 2018

 

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment announced today that the sequel to Colin Trevorrow's blockbuster Jurassic World will arrive in theaters on June 22, 2018.

Trevorrow will write the script for the upcoming film with Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg will executive produce the film through Amblin Entertainment.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are set to return for the sequel.

Yesterday, Jurassic World became the third top-grossing film of all-time, after it surpassed The Avengers. To date, the film has grossed $1.52 billion at the global box office.

"Bates Motel": Season Three Blu-ray

Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release on Blu-ray Bates Motel: Season Three. The two-dsic set will be available for purchase on October 13.

After a blissful summer of closeness with his mother, living within the safe confines of home and the Bates Motel, Norman's fears about what really happened with Blaire Watson resurface and Norma questions what really happened. Forced to look at the truths about Norman for the first time, their deeply intricate relationship continues to evolve. In this throwback to '90s stalker thrillers, writer-director Joel Edgerton also stars as a man with an unhealthy fixation on an old schoolmate (Jason Bateman) and his wife (Rebecca Hall).

The dog days soon will be upon us, and with them the dregs of American cinema dumped unceremoniously into the local multiplex. But you could do a lot worse than The Gift, a creepy, crafty throwback to early ’90s stalker thrillers like Pacific Heights, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Single White Female and Unlawful Entry. Taken on its own undemanding terms and considered within its not very original framework, Joel Edgerton’s feature-length directorial debut is a pleasant — or pleasantly unpleasant — surprise, hitting its genre marks in brisk, unfussy fashion and raising a few hairs on the back of your neck along the way. It’s comfort food for fans of films in which mysterious presents appear on doorsteps, beloved pets go ominously missing, and an attractive woman taking a shower is the surest sign that something wicked this way comes.
 

‘San Andreas’ Team Reunites For ‘Rampage;’ Brad Peyton To Direct Dwayne Johnson In Arcade Game Adaptation

 

Brad Peyton is in talks with New Line Cinema to direct Rampage, reteaming him with the key players from the summer hit San Andreas. Dwayne Johnson is starring and Beau Flynn is producing. This comes as the San Andreas‘ gross has shaken past the $460 million global gross mark worldwide to become most certainly the most successful original live-action tentpole launch this summer, and also the highest-grossing film Warner Bros has released this year. It is actually the third film for Johnson, Flynn, Peyton and New Line after Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, which grossed $335 million globally at the box office.

 Peyton will produce Rampage with Flynn and his New Line-based FlynnPictureCo. and John Rickard (How To Be Single) through his Rickard Pictures. Seven Bucks Productions, co-founded by Johnson and Dany Garcia, will produce in a to-be-determined capacity. Jeff Fierson will executive produce.

‘Jurassic World’ Passes ‘Avengers’ For Number 3 On All-Time Box Office List

“Jurassic World” has grossed $1.522 billion at the worldwide box office, passing “Marvel’s The Avengers” to become the third-highest-grossing movie in history, Universal Pictures said Wednesday.

That means the only two films to have done better at the worldwide box office are James Cameron’s 2009 blockbuster “Avatar” with $2.78 billion, and his 1997 disaster epic “Titanic,” with $2.18 billion.  Disney’s Marvel superhero mashup “The Avengers” brought in $1.520 billion in 2012, and “Jurassic World” overtook it Tuesday night, Universal said.

Sony Pictures Releases New Trailer For "Spectre"

Sony Pictures has released a brand new trailer for Sam Mendes' upcoming James Bond film, Spectre, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny and Ben Whishaw as Q.

A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE.

Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond's actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot.

As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz.

The film will be released in the UK on October 26, and in the US on November 6, 2015.

Han Solo, Chewie and Luke Skywalker are all back in the just released trailer for "The Force Awakens" ... which nerds will be watching on repeat for the rest of the day.

Featuring our first glimpses at those familiar faces, some freaky shots of the new enemy and a glimpse at Darth Vader's crushed mask, we've got goosebumps!

The only words we hear come from Mark Hamill, echoing a line from "Return of the Jedi," who says "The Force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. My sister has it. You have that power too"

The last part of that quote is a new addition, as we then see someone with a prosthetic hand (likely Luke) handing off a lightsaber to someone else.

Kim Richards Arrested After Drunken Confrontation With Police

Kim Richards was arrested around 1:30am on Thursday morning after an allegedly drunken confrontation with police.

Security at the Beverly Hills Hotel called the cops to respond to a conflict, and Beverly Hills Police Department spokesman Lt. Lincoln Hoshino described the 50-year-old reality star as "belligerent, slurring her speech, and reeking of alcohol." Hoshino noted that Richards appeared to have had "too much to drink and was disturbing some of the other patrons" in the hotel's restaurant. Hotel security asked Richards to leave, but she refused at which point she went to the bathroom.

"Hotel security requested to make a Private Persons Arrest and BHPD officers entered the restroom and took her into custody," Hoshino added. "She was passively resisting and she was taken into custody on Private Person Arrest." According to authorities, when Richards was taken to the Beverly Hills Police Station for booking, she KICKED an officer.

Richards has been charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer and battery on a police officer. She is set to appear at the LAX Superior Court on May 10. She has since been processed and released.

Box Office: ‘Furious 7′ Tops $800 Million Globally in Less Than 2 Weeks

“Furious 7″ shot past the $800 million mark globally after less than two weeks in theaters.

Its performance essentially insures that it will become the first film in the “Fast and Furious” franchise and the first Universal Pictures release in history to top $1 billion.

“Furious 7″ easily topped foreign box office charts, picking up $195 million from 22,000 locations across 66 territories. Its international total stands at $548 million through Sunday. Domestically, “Furious 7″ earned $60.6 million, besting all comers, and bringing its Stateside total to $252.5 million.

Fans of the series have flocked to theaters to see how the film would handle the death of Paul Walker, who was killed in a 2013 car crash before shootings was completed.

First Look: Emma Stone, Joaquin Phoenix in Woody Allen’s ‘Irrational Man’

Sony Pictures Classics has released the first image from Woody Allen’s upcoming film “Irrational Man.”

The movie, which Sony Classics picked up earlier this year from Gravier Productions, stars Emma Stone and Joaquin Phoenix. Stone plays a student who falls in love with her philosophy professor, portrayed by Phoenix.

This is the “Birdman” star’s second film with Allen, after last summer’s “Magic in the Moonlight,” and marks the eighth collaboration between Allen and Sony Classics.

This is Woody Allen’s 51st feature, which also stars Parker Posey, Ben Rosenfield, Ethan Phillip and Jamie Blackley. It hits theaters on July 17.

Despite his hiccup with the law almost a year ago -- Shia seems back on track. The 28-year-old just landed in starring role in the film American Honey, which is written and directed by Oscar-winning short film director Andrea Arnold. In the movie, LaBeouf plays a man who travels the U.S., selling magazine subscriptions and living up his youth.

But prior to taking on that role, LaBeouf will star in the film Man Down, alongside Divergent's Jai Courtney and House of Cards's Kate Mara. The film, which is due out on Oct. 30, is set in post-apocalyptic America, and follows former U.S. Marine Gabriel Drummer (LaBeouf) as he searches for son, accompanied by his best friend (Courtney) and a survivor (Mara).

The Kardashians Drive Fans Crazy At The Airport In Armenia

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and their daughter Nori (plus Khloe) jetted in to Armenia last night, and when they arrived on Wednesday, fans and photographers went WILD at the airport.

A photographer on the scene, who was born and raised in Armenia, tells sources, "I've never seen anything like this ... it was absolute mayhem. The people here are CRAZY for Kim K!"

Kanye carried Nori through the terminal with Kim and Khloe close by, and the group headed to their hotel, presumably to relax for the rest of the day. The 100th anniversary of the genocide of Armenian people is on April 24, but Kim's rep recently stated that the reality starlet won't be attending any commemorative events -- apparently she just wants to get in touch with her roots.

As you know, Kim's father Robert was an immigrant from the country, the family plans to visit the town of Gyumri, where relatives of her dad may live. The group will also stop by the genocide monument, museums and meet with politicians, according to sources.

Paris Hilton attended the opening of the Charbel Zoe Couture store in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, and from the glam makeup and hair to the gorgeous dress, she looked like royalty.

Bruce Jenner Tells Diane Saywer He Will Live Life As A Woman From Now On

Bruce Jenner will be doing a two-hour special with Diane Sawyer, and sources connected to the reality star and the production team tell sources that he views the show as "a farewell" to life as a man.

Jenner will "present himself" as a woman for the first time, and while he won't reveal his new name or dress like a lady, apparently he sees this "as the most significant event associated with his sex change."

Bruce will reportedly discuss how he knew he wanted to be a woman at the age of 5, and he also spends time talking about how his gender transition has affected the family. The insider said that Bruce hopes doing the interview will help him and educate the public so others struggling with coming out don't have to deal with the same pain.

The interview airs on ABC on April 24th.

Will 'Furious 7' Become Universal's First Billion-Dollar Baby?

 

Universal is the only major Hollywood studio never to have a movie earn $1 billion or more at the worldwide box office, at least in its first outing. But that could all change, thanks to the supercharged Furious 7, which opened to a record-breaking $384 million over Easter weekend.

Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park topped out at $970 million globally upon its original release in 1993, although its gross grew to $1.027 billion after Universal reissued the movie in 3D two decades later in summer 2013.

Otherwise, Universal's top earners are Despicable Me 2 ($970.8 million), E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial ($792.9 million) and Fast and Furious 6, which took in $239 domestically and $550 million overseas for a rousing total of $789 million in 2013.

Seasoned box-office pundits believe Furious 7 has every shot of crossing $1 billion by the end of its run, considering it opened well ahead of Furious 6 to nab the No. 4 global opening of all time at the worldwide box office, including $143.6 million domestically and $240.4 million overseas.

Daniel Craig Has Knee Surgery After Bond Film Injury

James Bond star Daniel Craig has had knee surgery after sustaining an injury while filming action scenes for the latest installment of the spy series.

Craig had what was described by Eon Productions as a "minor procedure" during the Easter filming break.
The 47-year-old was filming in Mexico before he returned to New York last weekend, when the surgery is believed to have taken place.

A spokeswoman for Eon Productions denied reports Craig had been forced to miss several days of filming for Spectre, which will be released on November 6th.

It will be the actor's fourth outing as Bond.

One Direction: "We're Gutted That Zayn Chose To Leave"

 

One Direction chatted with The Sun the other day, and this is their first interview since the Zayn Malik announced that he had left the band last month.

Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan all seem pretty bummed about Zayn's departure, but they also sound like they're ready to move forward as a fantastic foursome.

"It's been a tough few weeks, probably the toughest since the band was formed five years ago," Payne said. "We're gutted that Zayn chose to leave, but now after a few performances as a four-piece, we're feeling confident and are determined to carry on stronger than ever." Payne wrote on Twitter last week, "This last week has been some of the worst times, possibly the worst it's something we are all deeply saddened by. It's sad to think for the time being we won't grace the stage as five bros or have the same fun on a tour bus or laughs in a hotel together that we have over the years but I'm super sure us and Zayn will always remain the closest friends… it's ok to be sad and upset but I do ask everyone who is a fan of us to please keep ur faith in us I'm sure there's a lot more to come."

Box Office: ‘Furious 7′ Debuts To $384 Million Globally

“Furious 7″ left all its competitors in the dust with a scorching global debut of $384 million.

The latest installment in the “Fast and Furious” franchise kicked off in 63 international markets, as well as the U.S. and Canada. It marked Universal Pictures’ biggest wide release ever, unspooling in 14,009 theaters around the world, including Imax and large format locations.

It ranks as the fourth highest-grossing global opening in history behind “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” ($483.2 million), “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” ($394.4 million) and “The Avengers” ($392.5 million).

“They’ve continually amped up the excitement level and improved the brand,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Rentrak. “They’ve created something that’s stood the test of time and seeped into the culture.”

The opening breakdown was a $143.6 million Stateside bow and a $240.4 million international kickoff. It’s a particularly impressive international figure, because “Furious 7″ has yet to open in such major markets as Russia, Japan and China.

Kanye West Will Join Kim And Nori On Trip To Armenia

Kanye West will accompany wife Kim Kardashian and daughter Nori on their upcoming trip to Armenia.

The trio will be in Kim's ancestral country just ahead of the 100th anniversary of the genocide of Armenian people, on April 24.

Kim dropped her first hint of the trip back in January, when she explained that her then-platinum blonde 'do was only temporary and that she'd return to being a brunette ahead of her trip to Armenia. It wasn't certain when she'd be traveling and if Kanye and North would come with her, but sources are reporting that Kim will travel with her husband and daughter and that they'll head there next week.

It's still unclear whether Kim will participate in an commemorative events but it IS clear that she wants to pass on to her family some education about her heritage. Kim's dad Robert, the famous OJ Simpson attorney who died from cancer in 2003, was an immigrant from the country and apparently Kim wants to connect to that history.

Richie Sambora's Ex-Girlfriend Claims Rocker Beat And Threatened Her

Richie Sambora's ex-girlfriend/business partner Nikki Lund has filed a police report claiming the Bon Jovi rocker assaulted her and threatened to kill her.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed that a criminal threat report was filed on Wednesday, though the parties involved were not named. "The incident is under investigation," Lt. Jennifer Seetoo told People. "The victim didn't come to the station. It was a call for service ... We do have a person of interest, but we are not saying who it is. The detective just got the case this morning."

A source close to Lund tells the magazine that Sambora "has been physically abusive to her and hit her in the chest at a meeting in January. This left her bruised and shaken up. After this, he re-Tweeted something about Nikki being a nobody and a drug addict, and then started calling her cell and threatening her saying, 'I will make you disappear. I have millions of dollars and I can make people disappear – you are nothing.'"

George Clooney and wife Amal Alamuddin dined at Bebbo Ristorante in Manhattan on Friday night, and even though there are rumors that the two are headed for a split after just six months of marriage, everything seemed fine to us when we snapped their picture last night.

So what's this about the couple divorcing? Apparently George wants babies and Amal wants to focus on her career! When George, 53, realized that his high-profile lawyer wife wanted him to move to London and wasn't even considering having children, he started freaking out. "George is refusing to move to London fulltime, where Amal has her successful legal practice, while Amal has decided to focus on her career, rather than having a baby," a source told added to the Australian magazine New Idea. Yikes! Apparently the rumors first popped up in February, but the couple have been seen out and about looking super lovey dovey a number of times over the last few months, so we're not sure if we believe it.

‘Furious 7′ Speeding To $150 Million Opening After $67.3 Million Friday Debut

“Furious 7” is speeding past records at the box office this Easter weekend.

The sequel from Universal raced to $67.3 million on Friday in 4,004 U.S. locations as it gears up for a record-breaking opening weekend of $149.5 million.

The sizable figure trumps estimates that had pegged the debut at $115 million, which was bumped up throughout the day on Friday.

The film, starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and the late Paul Walker, is on course to become the ninth highest-grossing U.S. opener of all time, stealing the slot from “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” which launched to $142.8 million in November of 2009. It trails “Spider-Man 3,” which debuted to $151.1 million in May 2007.

“Furious 7” will easily overtake Marvel-Disney’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” as April’s highest grossing opener of all time.

The other day T-Pain let it slip that Rob Pattinson and lady love FKA Twigs were engaged, but seeing as it was April Fools' Day, we didn't take it too seriously. The couple exchanged promise rings in March, but now a source tells the mag that it was actually an engagement ring!
