After the jury found him guilty of involuntary manslaughter in Michael Jackson's death -- Conrad Murray was placed on suicide watch at the Los Angeles County Jail on Monday, according to the LA Times.
Murray was cuffed and taken into custody immediately after the verdict was read, and he will remain behind bars until his November 29 sentencing. Despite pleas from his attorney Ed Chernoff, LA County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor ordered that he be locked up.
"This is a crime where the end result was the death of a human being. That factor demands rather dramatically that the public should be protected," Pastor said.
Murray faces a maximum sentence of four years in prison.
