George Clooney To Receive Cecil B. DeMille Award At Golden Globes


George Clooney will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 72nd annual Golden Globes.

The ceremony, to be held January 11 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Previous recipients of the lifetime achievement honor include Woody Allen last year and Jodie Foster in 2013.

Clooney, a four-time Golden Globe winner, has been nominated 13 times by the HFPA in his illustrious career and is also a two-time Academy Award winner, most recently as producer of the 2013 best picture winner “Argo.”

He has appeared in over 40 films and TV shows since cementing his star status with the 90s TV drama “E.R.” before moving on to pursue a career in film. The Lexington, Ky.-born multi-hyphenate has since directed five features, including “Good Night and Good Luck,” “The Ides of March” and “The Monuments Men.”
