Alex Trebek snapped his Achilles tendon after chasing a burglar suspect in the hotels hallway he was staying at in San Francisco.
He crutched himself to the National Georgraphic World Championship at Google headquarters in CA today and explained he was trying to catch a burglar when the injury occurred.
The Jeopardy host is currently in the hospital being treated for his injuries.
UPDATE: The suspect has been ARRESTED -- according to ABC7 in San Francisco the alleged bad guy is actually an alleged bad girl.
Cops have said that the 56-year-old woman was booked on felony burglary and possession of stolen property after allegedly entering Trebek's room and taking cash and a bracelet his mother gave him -- then stashing it near an ice machine on Trebek's floor.
Trebek injured himself while chasing the woman down the hallway.
I guess Jeopardy isn't one of her favorite shows....
