Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson And Other Celebs Make Donations To Help Victims of Typhoon Haiyan In The Philippines


As the Philippines try to rebuild from the unbelievable damage from Typhoon Haiyan, celebrities are trying to do their part to help those in need.

Jessica Alba and the Honest Company, her toxin-free natural household product company, made a generous donation to the victims through Operation USA, E! News exclusively confirms. The 32-year-old mother and her team delivered the donation in Los Angeles.

The retail value of the products is $51,445, according to Alba's company. The Honest Company is also offering a company match to all monetary donations made by their employees.

Rosario Dawson, who is an active member of Operation USA's board, is also supporting the relief efforts and is assisting with a fundraiser to help raise money for recovery.

Barbra Streisand and her foundation, The Streisand Foundation, is pledging "a major monetary donation."

Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, also contributed by supporting United Airline's Crowdrise fundraiser for Operation USA.

Operation USA is privately funded and has been working in the Philippines after major disasters since 1986, according to a press release. Since Typhoon Haiyan, they have "provided water purification supplies" and are "sending electric generators and other emergency relief materials." They are working to continue to deliver aid to the hardest hit areas.

Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines nearly a week ago on Friday, Nov. 8, and the extent of the destruction is still unknown.

Philippine officials estimate that the death toll from the terrible storm is in the thousands and many people are continuing to suffer from hunger and lack of water and shelter.
