Mel Gibson wants to spend more quality time with his baby girl -- and in order to get what he wants -- he's demanding to change his child custody agreement with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
Mel has filed a request with the court ... for additional overnight visits with 1-year-old Lucia.
Under Mel's current agreement ... he only gets 3 overnights with Lucia every 2 weeks.
Nothing has been decided, but a hearing is set for September. If the judge agrees with Mel's request -- he and Oksana will have baby Lucia almost 50-50.
Gotta admit it though....that is one CUTE baby!
