Conan O'Brien Spoofs Donald Sterling's CNN Interview

Conan O'Brien presented his own take on Donald Sterling's apologetic interview with Anderson Cooper on Monday's “Conan.” During his monologue, the comedian said that he felt like Sterling might have been trying a little too hard to convince Cooper he wasn't racist. On April 29, Sterling was banned by the NBA for life and fined $2.5 million after recordings were made public of him making racist comments.

When O'Brien showed a clip of Cooper's interview with the Los Angeles Clippers owner, thanks to the power of video editing, suddenly Sterling was wearing Rastafarian garb and surrounded by pictures of African-American celebrities. He even had a banner hung that read “I [Heart] Blacks.”

It added a whole new weight to Sterling's words as he said, “I'm apologizing and I'm asking for forgiveness. I'm not a racist. I made a terrible, terrible mistake, and I'm here with you today to apologize, and to ask for forgiveness.”
